The difference from day two to this morning on day three is significant. Pea microgreens grow amazingly fast. So you might wonder why do they cost so much?? Number one we use 250g of seed for each tray, almost half a pound. In the field you’d grow a significant quantity of peas with that much seed. Number 2 the seed is specifically produced for microgreens, seed suppliers test for pathogens and select for highest germination rates. Ungerminated seeds can lead to mold and fung...us issues. Number 3 we use fresh sterile soil for every growth for all the reasons above. And lastly if anyone thinks this is just an easy process and a path to a quick buck everything is cleaned and sanitized after every growth not to mention watering and constant monitoring to ensure a safe and healthy product. In other words it’s work, labour and it’s a huge part of how I make my living but it’s #alabouroflove for growing nutritious food.
