Are you an enthusiastic and creative person who can see the potential in vintage items, has strong computer and social media skills, and loves thrift stores? Working at The Evergreen’s Second Hand Shop, you’ll be responsible for a variety of duties that support the sale of second hand items at our Dogwood location a...nd our on-line store. Sales from our Second Hand Shop go toward improving the experience and environment of the people who live and work at The Evergreen. A typical day could include customer sales while cleaning, organizing, and creatively displaying items for sale at our Dogwood store, staging and taking photos for our online store, sorting and organizing donations, and setting aside items that could be cleaning and re-purposing projects for the staff and residents at the Evergreen. Job Duties: At the Shop -Greeting guests, assisting with shopping needs -Processing payment, debit, credit, cash -Putting stock out on the floor -Maintaining a clean, organized space -Creating unique displays of items, bundling like items for sale -Promoting sales At the Sorting Site -Sorting items appropriate for sales floor at the Dogwood store, and online store -Sorting seasonal items -Determining projects in need of sorting/repair/cleaning/re-purposing to be worked on at The Evergreen Online -Sharing photos and sales events to Facebook page -Interacting with customers via Facebook and online store Qualifications: A dependable, trustworthy and thoughtful person who naturally enjoys helping others. This position is best suited for someone that can see the potential of things to be marketed creatively for sale, or to be re-purposed (as we are all about reuse, reduce, and recycle at The Evergreen) Must have strong computer and social media skills, and able to edit and upload photos to different platforms.
