This is absolutely devastating! Fires don't only take lives, but also livelihoods. This fire was only a couple blocks from my house, in my little town of Kemptville. Tallman Truck Centre has been a pillar in our community, while this location was used primarily for body work now, it's location is somewhat of a landmark in our community. I don't know the cause of this fire, it was maybe entirely unpreventable, but I do know that we should do absolutely everything we can to p...revent fires like these. This shop was still operational. A week ago Splash Autocare in Ottawa's west end was devastated by fire. "A vehicle caught fire inside of Splash Autocare at 8:36 a.m., Friday. The flames quickly spread to the building, and a second alarm was declared by the Ottawa Fire Service due to risk of exposure to another commercial building." OttawaMatters reports. While there were no injuries, the damages not discussed are those to the owners, and staff that worked at this location. 2 weeks before Christmas and liv...elihoods destroyed. We often think of protecting our homes, but forget about our businesses. We don't know if Splash had working extinguishers, or what the cause of the fire is.
