Oh this poppy! Purchased this last year and it's flourishing in this dry heat. Letting this one self seed for more beautiful blooms next year! Poppies are so versatile, growing in sun or shade and extremely drought tolerant.

Beautiful shade garden

I've been experimenting with perennials in containers and liking the results! Find plants from your garden and add a few inexpensive annuals for a little more colour. Choose perennials that have foliage colour or continuous blooms like purple Salvia pictured here. I'm trying out Rudbeckia too. We'll see how that turns out. :) Also pictured: lamium, hosta, sedum 'Autumn Joy', cosmos and alyssum.
