It is definitely OK to show your brain some love. Our brains take a lot of abuse every day, through negative self-talk and the harmful speech of people all around. You can't change everything, but you can change what you choose to think about! ... #brainfitness #neuroscience #positivity #brainlove #selfcompassion #innerlight #consciousness

When a person is relaxed, they breathe through their nose in a slow, even and gentle way. Deliberately copying a relaxed breathing pattern seems to calm the nervous system that controls the body’s involuntary functions. Controlled breathing can cause physiological changes that include: - lowered blood pressure and heart rate - reduced levels of stress hormones in the blood... - reduced lactic acid build-up in muscle tissue - balanced levels of oxygen and carbon dioxide in the blood - improved immune system functioning - increased physical energy - increased feelings of calm and wellbeing. Just...breathe! In for a count of 7, out for a count of 11. Repeat until relaxed.

Did you know olfactory receptors are found in and around the entire human body, not just in the nose? In fact, more than 150 olfactory receptors have been identified outside the nose and are currently an active area of study. Aroma is a shortcut to the brain's limbic (emotional) centres, so the right scents can have a deeply calming effect on the mind.... At The Healing Yurt we have sourced rare aromas chosen for their relaxation enhancing effects, such as the Hiba and Hinoki cypress from Japan, and aloeswood from Nepal. So every deep breath you take in our healing space brings you feelings of inner peace and positivity!
