Coming together to support one another is the most important thing we can do to keep our community strong. As an inclusive Masjid and Community Centre, The Islamic Society of Gloucester(ISG) is here to provide the support that is needed by every member of this community, city and country. We strongly b...elieve that in these uncertain times, we need each other more than ever before. I would also like to share the good news with you that by the grace and mercy of Allah (SWT), we were able to pay off all installments for the Masjid and Community Center, Alhamdulillah. For the continues operations and maintenance of our masjid, we are doing the best we can to fulfill our financial obligations including paying the fixed costs that are associated with running a Masjid. Since the facility is closed for Friday prayers due to Covid-19, our weekly donations at the Masjid have dried up. COVID-19 ANNOUNCEMENT UPDATE : Canada Child Benefit & Emergency Community Support Fund From the Honourable Ahmed Hussen, P.C., M.P. Minister of Families, Children and Social Development... Dear Friends, To help families deal with the added pressures of COVID-19, families currently receiving the Canada Child Benefit (CCB) received an additional $300 per child with their May payment this week. The CCB will also be increased once again in July, to help families keep up with the costs of living and raising their children. Additionally, we are pleased to inform you that the $350 million Emergency Community Support Fund, a program designed to support community organizations who are providing essential services to vulnerable Canadians through the COVID-19 crisis, is now open for applications. We have organized three information sessions to help inform non-profits and charities about the application process and answer any questions you may have. These sessions will explain how the Emergency Community Support Fund will work, how community organizations can apply for support, and how community organizations can find help to put in an application. You will hear from the three national entities the Canadian Red Cross, the United Way Centraide Canada and Community Foundations of Canada that will deliver funds to community organizations across the country. This will be in addition to engagement each of the organizations will be doing within their own networks and in local communities.
