It’s the end of an era. The KLSHD has been here longer than it’s been the KLSHD. I took lessons here before the renovations in the 1990’s and we’ve been here ever since! 30+ years if I had to guess. Fairwell St. Aidan's United Church!
I know a lot of my dancers (present and former) know this family (Julianna is the dancer’s name). If you can help, please do
I promise I won’t bombard you with pictures after each week! But this was the first week we were in the big studio which is where we’ll be for the rest of the year!
Huzzah! We were back in a studio today for the first time since March 12! Missing a few from the final class.. but 2 joined via Zoom :) Was even able to add a brand new dancer into the mix too. All my dancers looked amazing (yay faces not just legs on a screen!) and I am so excited for this new chapter in the life of the KLSHD
Things have been pretty quiet over here at the KLSHD... but I am so excited to show you the big, beautiful, NEW space we will be dancing in starting next month! Thank you for working with us Westcoast Academy of Performing Arts - WAPA and Dana Fry Blanco!
This is promising! Congratulations New Zealand!
It’s tricky.... but I spotted Lorna and Arabella in the bottom right corner!
These 2 KLSHD lassies celebrated Canada Day by dancing a Scottish Lilt at Beacon Hill Park (in front of the Robbie Burns Memorial no less) and submitting it to the #InteractiveHighlandDancingFestival Well done Arabella and Lorna!
Thank you Shannon S. for creating this beautiful image
Some really good interviews with Highland dancers.... some of them world champions many times over!
Fun class today! Our June drop-ins are often varied. Today we had everything from a brand new Primary to Premier... and everything in between!
Last week of regular Highland classes and singing Happy Birthday to Emma Zoom style!
Just a little something we've been playing with! Still trouble shooting but I think the video with the younger dancers turned out a little smoother than the one I did with the Premiers/teens on Thursday
Another week of Zoom teaching completed. If this picture says anything, it’s how much I can’t wait to get back into the studio so I can see your smiling faces and not just your dancing legs!
