Not sure what to entertain guests with next weekend? Try out this homemade Maple Pecan Hummus, drizzled with a sweet Balsamic reduction and full of heart healthy fats. Maple Pecan Hummus: 1 cup dried chickpeas... 1 teaspoon Baking Soda Soak the chickpeas and baking soda in water overnight, then gently simmer for 2 hours. (Or if you're short on time, you can use 2 cans of chickpeas). cup Tahini paste 2 Tablespoons Lemon Juice 3 cloves Garlic 1 teaspoon Salt Water as needed After the chickpeas are tender, add them to food a processor, along with the tahini, lemon juice, garlic, salt and water, and blend for about 2 minutes. It should have an almost runny consistency but still be able to hold it's shape. Scoop onto a shallow bowl, sprinkle with pumpkin, sunflower, and sesame seeds and Canadian Maple Pecans from @thenutmerchant. Then drizzle with a little extra virgin olive oil, and balsamic reduction.
