The Old Church Pottery & Gifts last day open for the summer season will be Monday, Sept.7 . Taking time to reflect on the generosity of my regular/new customers and letting go of some of the stress of this strange season. Hope to get some camping in as well. Projects, making more stock for the fall/Christmas season and getting the church ready for winter will be part of the downtime. Wanted to thank everyone who was kind enough to purchase and/or pass on a good word about their experience here and in so doing allow me to keep making pottery, pay the bills and continue living the dream. See you in October..
Final firing before the end of the summer season: spice bowls, last of the big bowls, a bowl for my own cupboard and glaze tests....
New temple bells. Sanded down to bare metal, painted on a hydrogen peroxide and salt mix to bring out a rust pattern and 3 clear coats. Happy with the results..

Final run of small bowls(3 sizes). Changed the application of glazes and increased the final temperature of the firing to get more blue and hints of purple.
Had a opportunity today that I could not pass up. While a few need repair and frames, a few more are in showroom condition. An investment l like finding, having and selling. A great day off!

The gift shop is open today but with many roads closed and detours extremely wet and soft, it would be safer to stay home, let the water go down and the ground start to dry out. See you later this summer.
