The Old Smoke House Pop Up Weddings

Pop up weddings are perfect with Covid, small and quaint. It is all the heart really needs. It seems that, especially now, we need a reason to celebrate and an elope/pop up wedding is a wonderful way to come together with a small group outside and celebrate with keeping safety measures in mind. This past Saturday turned out to be a perfect day as we celebrated the wedding ceremony of Billie and Shawn at our farm. Especially under the uncertain circumstances we now live with..., we could not have asked for a better day. The weather cooperated, the words spoken by Chaplain Avril came from the heart and showed on people’s faces. The beautiful bridal and bridesmaid’s bouquets, the decorated arch, by Diana McCulloch, the plants supplied by our friend Gayle, the amazing pictures taken by Marie Daxon and let’s not forget the signing and music supplied by Kathy Vandersanden, it all made it come together beautifully. Our staff Katie and Gayle handed out our house made food, and our house made wedding cake A big surprise what the 1923 Vintage Budd car, lend to us by our friend Doug as an added prop to take pictures with. Our pop up wedding on September 19, 2020 is a go. So many couples had to cancel or postpone their wedding. We are happy that at least we can go ahead with the pop up wedding / vow renewal day. After the Pop Up wedding day at our farm last summer, we’ve decided to put one on again this year which will also include vow renewals. The date is September 19, 2020 with the possibility of another date in August. Pop Up events are a simpler and more affordable affair where everything is organized for you. Your day will include a legal officiant, live music, bridal bouquet and boutonnière, photographer, small wedding cake and light refreshments, savoury appetizers and sweets for you and up to 20 guests.
