Thank you everyone for your interest in my pumpkins! Although I’ve been making them for years, I’ve come to realize that not many of you really know what Hypertufa is. Hypertufa is a mixture of peat moss, vermiculite, & Portland cement. So instead of adding gravel or sand to the cement, you add peat moss & vermiculite. This combination creates a product that is easier to mold, and easier to sand.... It is much lighter than cement with sand or gravel, yet almost as strong. Since my pumpkins are painted with at least two coats of indoor/ outdoor paint, they can be displayed and enjoyed in any environment, and will last for many many years! Thanks again! See more
