Six people were arrested in Richmond in connection to clandestine drug labs found by police last month. Richmond RCMP executed multiple search warrants on Oct. 28 after an investigation of the group responsible for the alleged laboratories that began in March.

For the second straight day, BC is reporting double-digit deaths from COVID-19, with 10 more announced today. Health officials also reported a record high 762 new cases, including three that are epidemiologically linked, for a total of 24,422 since the pandemic began. Of the new cases, 210 are in the Vancouver Coastal Health region (including Richmond), 481 in the Fraser Health Region, 20 in the Island Health Region, 38 in the Interior Health region and 13 in the Northern Health region.

The Richmond Nature House is now open daily to visitors. The Nature House currently features exhibits about Richmond’s bog and the wild animals that have learned to live among us. Visitors can test their nature knowledge with What Is It?, meet some of the animals that live in the bog and ask all their nature questions to the on-site naturalist.

As if the weather were showing its goodwill, Tuesday’s wind and rain let up for the Richmond RCMP’s annual toy drive kick-off at Lansdowne Centre. Proceeds from the toy drive go towards the Richmond Christmas Fund operated by Richmond Cares, Richmond Gives.

In just the last 24 hours, 11 British Columbians lost their lives for reasons related to COVID-19. That sobering statistic is in addition to a record high 717 new cases reported today, exceeding last weekend’s single-day record of 659 cases. One of the new cases was epidemiologically linked, and BC’s cumulative case total now stands at 23,661 cases in British Columbia.
