At the 11th hour, of the 11th day of the 11th month we took 2 minutes to stop and remember. We are very grateful to have had 6 uniformed Royal Canadian Mounted Police join us and form an honour guard around our cenotaph. Just before 11 the CC130 Hercules flown by London native Capt. Derek Pasma graced the air space over our cenotaph. I am incredibly honoured to have been part of this and I have now been the Sgt At Arms for this branch for 10 years.... Thank you for supporting me in this role and thank YOU for supporting our Veterans!

I have arrived at the Lambeth cenotaph and lowered the flag to half mast. I was very pleasantly surprised when I arrived to find 88 painted rocks placed on our cenotaph. I'm guessing it was the local school children but either way whoever is responsible for this........ THANK YOU! **Updated to name the school responsible for this awesome display and gesture. They were painted by students at St. Thomas More Catholic School in London.**

This is just a friendly reminder that we WILL NOT BE HAVING A SERVICE AT THE LAMBETH CENOTAPH ON NOVEMBER 11th. There will be a Legion member on site so that the cenotaph is not unattended, but there will be no official service. If you wish to be at the cenotaph to pay your respects and observe the 2 minutes of silence you are welcome to do so, but please follow all current guidelines from the Government regarding masks and physical distancing. Alternatively, Branch 501 will... be open for your convenience to watch the London service from Victoria Park starting at 10:45 am. The Legion will have a light lunch available for those who wish to attend and we will have take out containers available for those who wish to take the food home. We will be serving chili and buns. If you have any questions please call the branch.

Lets make this happen!!!!! Take some extra poppies and visit a local Veteran's grave!!!

So what to do with a regular size lest We Forget flag and no Remembrance Day services to run this year? I hung it in my front window to show my respect and that I Will Remember Them!

Food Truck Friday was a huge success!!!!!!! Thanks to everyone who came out to support the trucks and enjoyed the beautiful setting that Lambeth Legion has to offer! We had a great turnout and also enjoyed some amazing food. ... Because of the success we are looking at doing this event again in the very near future!

So here's something neat to share with you! Branch 501 is the proud sponsor of 862 Royal Canadian Air Cadet Sqn. They held a "Christmas In July" Gingerbread house contest. 12 cadets participated and the results are amazing! This one in particular caught my attention. I do not know which cadet made it so I can not give credit. I thought you would all enjoy seeing this. It's a shame that this masterpiece will be broken down and eaten at some point.

Branch 501 is pleased to announce that Comrade Mac MacEachern will be awarded his 45 year membership pin! Mac is our past Honours & Awards Chair and Sgt At Arms. He is currently serving in the Veteran Service Officer role. Covid 19 has not allowed us to have General Meetings where we hoped to present him with his pin, but it will be properly and formally presented in the future when we are able to gather again. Please join me in congratulating Mac for his 45 years of membership!

Hey Comrades and friends!!!!!!! Guess what?! We are OPEN!!!!!!! Yep you read that right! With London moving to stage 3 yesterday our Legion doors are now OPEN to all of you! We have safety protocols in place and are able to welcome you and your friends back INSIDE!... Come on out and enjoy a drink in our air conditioning and enjoy the Comradeship we have all missed. We will be open Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays from 2-6 pm. Our patio will still be open as well for you to enjoy. There will be no singing, dancing or live entertainment. At east for now. We will be back to the vibrant Legion full of events that you know and love soon. WE PROMISE!!!

Even though the Legion has been closed to members we did some renovations during the Covid shut down. Our kitchen got a much needed update we think the Ladies of the Ladies Auxiliary will be much happier with this! Here are 2 pictures to show you what it looks like now! :)

Hey Comrades and friends!!!!! I have some GREAT NEWS!! OUR PATIO WILL BE OPENING ON THURSDAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :) ... We will be open Thurs 2-6 pm, Fri 2-6 pm and Sat 2-6 pm. We have lots of hand sanitizer and safety protocols in place and we are ready to welcome you back! We are only allowing 100 people into our patio and there will be no dancing or singing. We will have background music for you to enjoy while socializing with others. Come on out and enjoy a cold one on our patio. We welcome you back with open arms (ok figure of speech you still have to stay socially distant) and can't wait to see you! :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :)

Covid may have closed our Legion to members but we have been getting some renovations done! I had an idea to update the front garden and got the go ahead from our President Tom Shields and our Executive. Last week Tom along with help from Brian Ford and Robert Shields removed the old railway ties border from the garden. Today, myself, Greg, Sarah and Logan Lawrence along with member Shawn Wylie's help removed all of the ground cover growth and did some grading. The next ste...p is to figure out what kind of border to put in and some new plants. Here are before and after pictures. Can't wait to show you the final product!
