Know an artist looking for studio space in Toronto? This might be perfect!
Friday's delivery route is full but there is still lots of space to add deliveries on Saturday and Sunday of the coming weekend.
If we witches are driving between Ottawa and Toronto for trade shows etc we always swing through Peterborough so that we can go to Black Honey on Hunter Street West. Their food and their coffee are out of this world and they also carry Moss Berry Farm products (which also hold a very special place in our hearts). Good luck with your re-opening, we you and stay safe!
Thanks to Ottawa Public Health for staying on top of information as it becomes available and for making the necessary adjustments to keep us on the right track!
Just in time for Father's Day, our web-shop has been re-stocked!
Our Beechwood Avenue and our Elgin Street locations are now open for take-out and pick-up Wednesday through Sunday from 10am-4pm! Both locations are offering scones (baked & ready-to-bake), sandwiches and salad. Online ordering coming soon but until then you can call Elgin at 613-232-2173 and Beechwood at 613-741-4141 if you wish to place your order ahead of time. You can also walk in to place your order. When you come into the cafe, PLEASE wear your mask!... We anticipate opening our Cyrville location for take-out on Thursday July 9th...same days and hours as the others. Still waiting on our building permit to get fit-up started on our rumoured Westboro location...so no, we have no idea when it's opening but when we know, we'll be sure to post it ;-)
We re-opened the doors to our Elgin Street location this morning after 101 days of being closed! Our first location to re-open Elgin will be open Wednesday through Sunday from 10am to 4pm...closed on Canada Day. Scones are available both baked and ready-to-bake, sandwiches, salad and coffee...
Wise words in the post below, from Mandi Lunan- Food Business Coach. We know that we’re moving slower on re-opening than some of you would like. We that you can’t wait to have us back and we promise that we’ll get there...but the decisions are scary and tough and sometimes we can only think it through so much in a day before we need to take a break, sleep on it and see what ideas have percolated in the morning.
Afternoon tea vs. high tea...the great debate. It's not actually a debate really but they do often get used interchangeably. And yes, we know that our afternoon tea at our Beechwood location has been incorrectly branded as a high tea in the past and we are determined to make amends when we are able to re-launch it https://www.npr.org//high-tea-afternoon-tea-elevenses-engl
Counting our scones and checking them twice! The website's inventory has been updated and we are getting prepared for another weekend of reverse Halloween , where we ring your doorbell and leave delicious treats on your step!
Okay Canadian dairy processors (DPAC - ATLC )...who's going to be the first to make some Canadian clotted cream? https://bbc.in/2XxUHvG
Orange-Cranberry
100g bags of our loose-leaf House Blend tea are now available on our website as well.
This year #NationalCreamTeaDay will be going online! Since we don't currently have any clotted cream, that gives you a whole month to perfect your DIY clotted cream before the big day!
Left out all of the options that involve clotted cream so as not to rub salt in the wound
Our favourite (and only) coffee can now be ordered through our website along with our scones!
Good morning Ottawa! Our online inventory has been re-stocked...sorry for the delay, it seems this sunshine had me looking out the window and losing track of what I was supposed to do
We're getting ready for another action packed weekend of scone deliveries! Order Online: https://sconewitch.ca/collections/home-delivery/delivery It's going to be hot this weekend (yay!), if you leave a cooler out, we'll put your order in the cooler for you.
Devon Cream, Clotted Cream, Double Cream... We've been getting a lot of questions from you lately about adding cream to your delivery orders. Unfortunately we've been out of stock of cream for quite some time now. It's an imported product and in speaking with our supplier this week, it's evident that it will likely be 3 months or more before another shipment will arrive in Canada. Fear not! There are loads of resources on the internet to walk you through making your own. It'...s quite simple but does require a lot of time (unattended)...so put down that sourdough starter and get going on your own batch of homemade cream! Will it be the SAME?...no, not exactly. The clotted cream that is usually available for retail purchase would have started out from a much less processed dairy as the process to turn it into clotted cream further pasteurizes it. But will it be great? Yes, yes it will! The article in the link has multiple methods of making your own at home, in an instant pot, a rice cooker, the oven...make your own, tell us how it goes! Have you found a better recipe hidden out there on the internet? Now's the time to share it! Let us know what it is, we'd be happy to pass it along. https://www.cupcakeproject.com/clotted-cream-recipe-making/
High five for quarantine fitness!
Good Morning Ottawa! You have blown us away with your once again! We have now taken all the orders that we can physically deliver over this weekend. Our website has been adjusted to start taking orders for next weekend (April 17-19). If the items that you want to order are out of stock, maybe wait for Tuesday to place your order. We will be producing again on Monday and will update the inventory on our website first thing Tuesday morning.
**UPDATE** Some of you are experiencing issues with the website freezing, as well as the date picker not appearing, or your postal code being accepted and then rejected. We're working to resolve this right now and will update once it's fixed. We do have a cut off for the number of orders that we can deliver each day and we are almost there, however we will be adding deliveries on Sunday as well to try and give everyone the chance. __________________________________________..._________________ Hello! After much head scratching and click-clacking away on a keyboard we've managed to put together a web-store for you to order scones for Easter Weekend. The scones will all be delivered frozen (ready-to-bake) and the deliveries will be made on Friday the 10th and Saturday the 11th. Thanks to @shopify for helping us adapt our business! Our cafés still remain closed so there are no options for pick-up at this time. After this weekend we will be able to evaluate how our plan worked and assess if this is something that we'll be able to do each weekend. Like a lot of businesses, our idea of what our business looks like and can accomplish changes on an almost hourly basis and we really appreciate how patient all of our customers are being while we find the right balance for our comfort level right now! Hi Ottawa! We're hitting pause on our remaining operations for the time being. We feel so loved right now because of all your support. We'll be staying in touch and we will make sure to post everywhere when we know what the re-opening date will be. #flattenthecurve

Local family business Sula Wok puts their experience running food carts and food trucks to work to stay connected to their customers while still keeping everyone safe and socially distant! Plus they just received a new order of their excellent t-shirts!!
Next week's home delivery menu is ready to go with a few additions and some updated information. The witches are all taking a break for the weekend to catch up on their sleep but someone will be in on Sunday to respond to the email orders that have come in over the weekend! Currently we are all full for deliveries on Monday based on our current capacity so anything sent in over the weekend will be for Tuesday at the earliest. ... If you happen to be running low on coffee or tea, you can add a pound of coffee to your order or a 100g bag of loose leaf tea. Let us know if you need your coffee ground and for what type of filter. #flattenthecurve #biglovefromsmallbiz #bigloveforsmallbiz #thanksottawa #weareadeliverybusinessnow

Command central! Every day we rotate positions so that everyone learns every aspect of of this new business that we are creating. This means that if someone isn’t feeling well, they can stay home and everything will still run just as smoothly as the day before! #flattenthecurve #biglovefromsmallbiz #bigloveforsmallbiz
Thank you everyone!! We are so thrilled that you’re enjoying your home delivery orders We’ve had a few customers arrive at our Cyrville Road location looking to make take-away purchases. Unfortunately at this time we are not offering take out from any of our locations. By closing our counter service, it gives our team the opportunity to focus on what their doing without any distractions. We’ve learned a lot this week and it’s been wonderful!
WE LOVE YOU OTTAWA We are so warmed by all of the customers who are calling in and emailing in their orders for scones. A quick update. We’re expanding the delivery window to 9am-3pm in order to accommodate more orders. In addition to that we are going to have more help with deliveries starting tomorrow and that will also allow us to keep up with the orders.
If you’ve received an order of unbaked scones and don’t have the baking instructions already, you can find them on our website. We’ve had more printed so that we don’t Ron our again http://sconewitch.ca/baking-instructions/
If you’ve been to Phil’s gym you know that he takes health seriously...during cold and flu season Phil is always reminding people to stay home and rest up if they’re sick, not just for themselves but for everyone in the gym. Not surprised to see that he has a great workout posted to keep the gainz happening while protecting Ottawa’s health and safety! #homegainz #flattenthecurve
Hello Everyone! We at The SconeWitch hope that you’re keeping well and staying in We did close our cafes on Elgin Street and Beechwood Avenue earlier today and we will make sure that we let you know when we have a date for re-opening.... We are still taking orders for home delivery however we have reached capacity for what can be delivered tomorrow and so all of the orders that we’re taking at this point are for Wednesday, Thursday and Friday of this week. I apologize to everyone who had to wait later than noon for their order today. I overestimated how many deliveries I could make in a three hour span! However, with the cafes closed there are some staff that are eager to help and that will increase the number of deliveries we can accept for later in the week. We’re working hard to get back to everyone who has left a message or sent an email regarding an order and appreciate your patience. Our staff like so many in this industry this past week have been very adaptable to information that has changed frequently through the day, every day, and to the ambiguity that has hung over this city. We are so proud of all of them and grateful for the wonderful work that have done and that they continue to do.
One of our top Witches has two years of Phil's workouts under her belt and can testify that they are the BEST workouts! This is your chance folks...Phil is going to be posting workouts on Instagram starting Monday and if you try them you'll all be SO hooked on them that you'll be joining his gym once this rough patch is over! #flattenthecurve #biglovetosmallbiz
One of the best patios in the city! Looking forward to sunshine, warmer weather, fresh air and good health for all!

We are taking orders for home deliveries of baked and un-baked dozens as well as half dozen that we can deliver Monday through Friday. You can even add a sandwich and a salad to that order! Place your order through our Cyrville Road location and pay by credit card over the phone. Our driver will leave your order o...n your doorknob or your front step and send you a text message when it has arrived! #flattenthecurve See more
Starting on Monday March 16th, our hours of operation will be slightly reduced for the near future. By reducing our hours we remain available to serve our customers but give our staff the opportunities to rest, decompress and take care of themselves. #flattenthecurve

I'm obsessed! Not sure which flavour of scone to choose as your base for the Woodfine Farms Marmalade? I haven't found a bad combination yet. This cheddar scone was an unlikely choice but they made a delicious combination regardless.
Thanks to everyone who let us know that we accidentally posted the Canada Day hours! This time it's the real thing! Beechwood and Elgin will be serving brunch until 2pm on the holiday Monday.

Weekend Brunch
This picture is prettier than you may think! Some good friends have been saving the ice packs that they get with their meal subscriptions for us. We've washed the packs and put them in our freezer at our Cyrville Road location to have on-hand if a customer picks up some frozen scones and is worried that they won't be able to get them home and into the freezer quickly enough. If you or someone you know is drowning in ice packs from meal services, send us a message and we'll make arrangements to take them off your hands and hopefully be able to have some on hand at all of our locations #reduceandreusebeforeyourecycle
MARMALADE We’ve been hunting for marmalade that we for a long time and we have finally found it. Thanks to Woodfine Farms in Merrickville for making us an extra large batch! Now available at all three locations in retail jars or as a topping for your scone in the moment!
There are still 7 spots left for Afternoon Tea tomorrow at Beechwood. Call 613-741-4141 by 11am on Tuesday to reserve your spot!
Time for Brunch!
