The Travel Angels Leisure and Group Travel Specialists 23.01.2021

Happy Fall everyone. While we anxiously await to travel again I wanted to give you some quick updates. Yes I'm so looking forward to booking your next holiday South, Europe, cruise and so on. Can't wait for that line up for me! Cruising - still challenges on the big cruiseships, but River Cruising is looking very promising. For smaller, sit down meals without the crowds consider this option. You can actually book for 2021 and some 2022 European River cruises. Caribbean... - I so miss the beaches as I'm sure you do too. Things have opened up with some people daring to go. Yes you can book to go. Be aware, entry requirements with negative Covid tests, mandatory masks in all public places, temparature checks at airports, and mandatory quarantine for 14 days when you return are in place so. If you must work, it may not suit you. Resorts have stringent protocols in place with employees wearing both masks and shields. Bar service instead of swim up and self serve anything is out - If you like pampering and quiet poolside/beach chairs social distancing, it may be an option. However, keep in mind, tipping more than usual will be expected(and much needed for locals who missed the last Winter peak), and that Americans are allowed into Mexico. Give careful thought to a vacation South and know some suppliers are providing some travel insurance. Europe - while some flights have resumed - mandatory quarantines depending on the country you visit may be required. Europe, as many other countries are also experiencing their 2nd waves of Covid. So we're not out of the woods yet, but we can still dream, make plans and put asside that $ we are saving eating at home and not going out so much. Keep watching Netflix, Amazon movies and stay healthy. Next time you're at the checkout closed in like the Customs officers at airports - Pretend your going away. LOL - I asked a cashier the other day if she wanted to see my passport - without a miss she said "But you can show me your Optimum card". Good spirits everyone! Stay strong.

Something I posted today for Travelers out there

The Travel Angels Leisure and Group Travel Specialists 20.12.2020

Hi everyone. It's been a while for sure. Decided I should post something despite the slow recovery in the travel world so here goes. I hope the following will help you all. Yes Covid is still around and although things are reopening and you see positings and ads for travel deals here's what you should know.... First and foremost - Things change quickly with different rules for different suppliers, different countries etc. So what I give you today may change tomorrow for all I know. Countries are implementing rules such as proof of a negative Covid test within 5 days or your arrival into that country. Some countries will require a self isolation period. Travel insurance - most are not covering items such as: -Changes in travel dates because of Covid related reasons - Your medical expenses/ extra days required to stay in the country because you have contracted Covid or borders and airports have closed because of Covid. Travel suppliers like Air Canada, Transat etc. while they are offering packages - should there be any changes may be charging fees to make changes, or penalties if things are cancelled to close to the travel dates. If you have a FTC - Future Travel Credit - it is for that value only and you will be required to put down a deposit which then becomes non transferable and non refundable for cancellations. Plus fees and penalties may apply if any changes are required because of Covid. Most suppliers have been generous to provide future travel credits for people (like me) who had a vacation booked. In reality, a Force Majeur - Act of God etc is normally not covered and suppliers are not obligated to absorb that responsability. No ONE knew this would impact us as it has. Let's be thankful for receiving the future travel credits, and, if you were lucky to have credit card or travel insurance coverage which refunded you. Be aware many insurances decided to not honor coverage after this happened. Yes I am still a travel agent. Right now, even travel interprovince can be tricky. Anytime a new wave occurs, we are all at risk of border closings, extended closings etc. Best to be safe and wait out the storm. I'll still be here for you when it is safe to sail, fly, and explore the world. Please use your masks correctly. I've seen in my minimal outings, people share excuses not to wear them, wearing under the nose, in the neck - then pull it up over the nose and variations. Those who refuse will only keep us in this war longer. If you do need a mask - I am sewing some fun ones that are double interfaced with two layers of cotton. See my Facebook page for those. And when we travel again, I'm stocking up a supply to give my clients. Something in case of emergency when you are abroad, in a crowded airport etc will be the New handy travel thing to have. Stay safe everyone!
