There will always be something you can be doing better at. Don't punish yourself for it-Justin Kan Good day Warriors. I've been quiet for a while but I have kep...t checking in with my tribe so I'm good. Holidays are tough and this is the come down period. Check ins save lives. OK. In case you didn't get that...check ins save lives. Checking in has saved 2 lives this week I know of. YOU are not alone. It's not just a phrase. With Valhalla it is a philosophy. We talk about the pain, fear, shame, etc. And especially about suicide. If you won't ask a friend, coworker, or even a family member if they are in crisis, then how can you help. Suicide due to PTSD and depression is a plague. Speak up and don't be afraid to talk. PTSD is only dangerous when alone. Take care of yourselves and each other. And of course check in with someone or check in if you need us. Sleep well warriors and lets all check in tomorrow. valhallaprojectniagara.org Smash the dog training cat. lol

Keep yourself busy if you want to avoid depression. For me, inactivity is the enemy.-Matt Lucas Hello everyone. Finally out of the holiday funk. It's been a tou...gh year with a very tough holiday. Let's keep moving forward on life's Labyrinth. This year will have lots of twists and turns but never a dead end if you keep going. As the anxiety dump hits, get off the couch, out of bed, eat something and get outside. I know eh, lots of steps. So just get up and drink water. Just get up. And of course check in on someone, or you check in. Sleep well Warriors. Tomorrow will be glorious. valhallaprojectniagara.org

A human being is not to be handled as a tool but is to be respected and revered. - Felix Alder Today it was an honor to be part of a small ceremony at the ceno...taph at City Hall in St. Catharines. It was to honor those who it is believed have suicided from mefloquine. 50 plus names read out. Some I knew. Thank you to MPP Jennie Stevens, Ian Brown, Padre Steven Bedard, and Mike Rude with service dog Spark from Rude Awakening Tour. You never know what people are going through. Either in their head or from meds. Check in and you will help someone. Alone is not good so reach out and both of you won't be. Sleep well warriors. valhallaprojectniagara.org

Being different isn't a bad thing. It means you're brave enough to be yourself- Luna Lovegood Good evening everyone. I hope your day was unsurpassed. Melodi a...nd I just watched the Grinch cartoon. Are we the only ones that think the Grinch has childhood trauma, sanctuary trauma, isolation issues, quick anger, depression and other signs of PTSD. At least he has a service dog that sleeps with him. LOL And he was strong and still went to dinner. Stupid tear making cartoons..lol Remember though' this is a tough time of year for a lot of us. And I will be the first to admit it. But we keep in touch with our family and Tribe. You will get through it and we can toast the New Year. Though probably not at Levy. And remember, even the Grinch ended up happier once he accepted the season. Take care of yourselves and each other. Sleep well warriors. valhallaprojectniagara.org

Each day provides its own gifts - Marcus Aurelius Here's to hoping you had a great day. I am finding that after my "restful" sleep, taking a few moments to find... Gratitude in something can help start your day in a positive way. A good friend reminded me that it is important to speak with your partner about what you are grateful for, not just unload all of the bad crap you are feeling. We need 5 positive to one negative to stay above water. So do they. And they need to be appreciated for the things we don't see them take care of. And I was reminded how much check ins help people. Thanks Tribe. This positive keeps me checking in. On others and when I need it. You aren't as alone as you think you are. Reach out. Take care of yourselves and each other. The more you are motivated by love, the more fearless and free your actions will be - Dalai Lama Good evening everyone. I have been humbled. During the early y...ears of my PTSD I didn't have a clue why I acted the way I did and made the decisions I did. This brought a lot of pain and confusion to family and friends. Some I have lost, but more importantly, I am coming to realize that some are still out there. There has been, in some cases decades of guilt and shame for my actions. If only I knew what was happening to me at the time. Knowing what I know now, It is with a deep Gratitude that I have been able to reconnect to some from my past. Thank you for your contact. I can never convey how much it means. I miss you all. Please check in on each other. And please be compassionate in your view of that twitchy, nervous, unresponsive person in line that can't look you in the eye. Especially while you are saying loudly what a beautiful dog to get their attention. Remember that not all wounds are visible, and that person is there through a strength of will. Take care and do your check ins. They work. Sleep well warriors valhallaprojectniagara.org

A trophy carries dust. Memories last forever.-Mary Lou Retton Good evening everyone. What an amazing, emotional, humbling, and gratifying day yesterday was. It ...was great to be included in the various solemn ceremonies through the day. The respect for our fallen and missing that I witnessed yesterday was amazing. Thank you to all who sacrifice to keep us safe in our lives. And to all who have given to the extreme to give us that freedom and safety. And it was great to reconnect with those from my past. Take care of each other and check in.

It's weird not to be weird-John Lennon Good evening everyone. Who feels weird? Who doesn't feel the same as you used to? As this injury that is PTSD takes over,... you are going to feel different. High anxiety, seasickness, fear of going out, feelings of isolation and abandonment, anger, sadness (it's ok to cry), loss of memory, weight gain or loss, loss of appetite, etc. And of course those terror nightmares. Anything ring a bell. There's alot more. NO SHAME. These are common in our injury. Lose the shame and reach out. "Nunquam Unis" - never alone. Check in and check in on someone. You are not alone in how you feel. Sometimes weird is what we are. At least you are not the only one. Sleep well Warriors, tomorrow will be glorious valhallaprojectniagara.org
