The Yoga Den Kamloops

With the latest update from Monday, November 23, we are temporarily unable to offer classes while we adhere to the government guidelines. We will keep you all updated with every bit of information that we receive. Can't wait to be back with our students!

Happy Sunday Den folk! We are so pleased to be able to say that we are still running classes at this time! Our mask policy is still if effect and we assure you that everything has been measured, spaced and sanitized properly.... The safety of our students as well as our instructors is our highest priority and we are taking this very seriously. Thank you again for your patience and continued support. We believe that we need yoga and community now more than ever! See you at The Den!

Good afternoon Yogi's! We are so pleased to be coming at you with a student feature! Meet Taryn and Brenda!... Why do you love yoga? "We always, always, always feel refreshed and grounded after class. As we age I think practicing yoga becomes so important for mind and body. We love seeing improvement in our poses!" What's your favourite part of The Den? "The warm and welcoming atmosphere, the great location AND they have the best instructors!" What do you like to do to stay active when you're not practicing yoga? "We both enjoy hiking and T bikes and we love to go on travel adventures with the family." We are so thankful to have the two of you as part of our beautiful little community! Keep on shining! See you at The Den!

We are so pleased to introduce Ellen for this week's student feature! Ellen has been one of our regular students from the very beginning and she has come to be such an important part of our community and what we're building! Ellen is also the owner of @globalgoddessaromatherapy and runs The Aroma Den out of the studio!... What a beautiful journey this is for us to be on with you Ellen, so thankful for you and your beautiful energy! So, here it goes! Why do love yoga? "I started yoga about 25 years ago as a healing lifestyle when my children were young. For me, yoga touches on the mind, body and spirit of self care. I cannot emphasize how important it is to have time for yourself when life keeps throwing challenges and opportunities your way. I especially enjoy the morning classes at the Yoga Den.From stretching, to meditation, it sets up my day. As one matures, the mind still thinks you’re 25 but your body says WTF." What is your favorite part about coming to The Den? "Community. The people and the instructors. And (confession) I can walk across the street. So there's absolutely no excuse for me to not go to yoga." What do you like to do to stay active when you're not practicing yoga? "Living in Juniper has allowed me to literally go for walks and hikes starting from my front door. For the past 8 years I have been teaching nordic and alpine skiing at Sun Peaks. It's the best version of therapy for me AND I get paid for it. One of my many happy places at Sun Peaks is at the top of Holy Cow."

Good morning Yogi's! Coming in to fall we thought it would be a good idea to reintroduce our team and bring back Teacher Tuesday! So first up, here's Joy! Joy will be will us Wednesday mornings at 9am for the month of October!... I am a Juniper resident and lover of yoga. I have been studying yoga for over 30 years (way before it was a cool or there were such things as yoga pants) and teaching yoga for over 20. Yoga has taken me to India to study yoga and meditation and over the years I have had the privilegeto studywith many renownednorth American teachers. But, there is nothing like home and communityand a good stretch after a bike ride. I see yoga as the tool to balance life. So whether it is a strongclass to balance all the sitting around I had been doing, a deep stretch to balance my last run or an escape to the quiet serenityof the Den away from the flurry of the house, yoga is my answer. My extensive training and passion for all things yoga allows me to design classes that cater to the students in the room. With the intimacyof the Den, this personalization is possible and it is what I love best about teaching at a community studio. I can'twait to meet you at The Den.

Here we go Yogi's! It feels like fall today! This is the beginning of our fall/back to school schedule! All evening classes are back in the studio until next summer! Excited to see you all! See you at The Den!

It's that time Yogi's! A few things to note on this schedule: 1. We will not be holding a Monday morning class due to the holiday BUT we will still run our park class! 2. This is the last week to attend the free park classes before we bring them all back in to the studio!... 3. We have added a Saturday morning class with Amanda for your weekends sake! 4. Our prenatal series starts this Saturday - still a few spots left if you're interested! See you at The Den!

Hey Yogi's! Meet Danika! Danika is a Geological Engineer who recently moved to Kamloops from Eastern Canada. She has completed her 300hr YTT with Modo Yoga (Hot Hatha Yoga) and is currently doing another 200hr training! We are so edcited to have you with us for this class Danika!... Come see her Wednesday evening at 7pm in the park!

Here is your weekly dose of wellness! We are still running our free park classes on Monday's and Wednesday's for as long as the weather allows us to! The evenings have been cooling off so a sweater and some socks for Savasana will take you a long way! See you at The Den/in the park!

What an honor it was to share space with all of you beautiful beings today! Sara tried to tell us she was a new teacher but after that class I'm not sure I believe her! So incredibly proud of the new teachers! It takes so much bravery to stand up and use your voice in these classes. I see nothing but beautiful things for all of you! Here we go! We are so pleased to see how many people have been showing up to our outdoor classes! It truly warms our hearts! Because everyone is loving the sunshine so much we decided to get rid of our Tuesday evening class for the rest of August. But be sure to come see Amanda on Thursday's for her Yin classes!... Have really enjoyed The Yoga Den Kamloops outdoor classes this week in Juniper Park. Thanks so much for making this so accessible. I know I’ve struggled with the idea of going back to an indoor class, but I’ve needed this. Feeling grateful.
