To my plastic surgery colleagues with private clinics, a registry of clinics who would be willing to loan their ventilators to hospitals in time of critical need is being established. I can email a link on request.

Why did we temporarily stop all non-essential surgery at our clinic? ISAPS recommends that all plastic surgeons postpone elective procedures until the pandemic is under control. Even if you are having surgery in a private clinic, the protective equipment, cleaning supplies and medications used for your operation are currently in limited supply, and they could be required for the care of critically ill patients. This is a global problem, and medications that we use for cos...metic surgery (like adrenaline and antibiotics) are in short supply worldwide. ISAPS also notes that "an asymptomatic patient can turn into a complication through general anesthesia, as we push the viruses into their lungs through ventilation." These are all important reasons to do our part. Hopefully clinics still open across the GTA will all do the right thing and focus on the health of our patients and society. See more

To all of our current and upcoming patients, we have temporarily stopped all nonessential elective procedures such as cosmetic surgery, Botox and fillers in compliance with the Ministry of Health request. This is an important effort to try to minimize the spread of the coronavirus and preserve critical protective equipment and medical supplies for those who need it most. We will remain open for several days per week to be available for our patients who have already had surgery, or those with more urgent issues such as cancer.
