Our annual holiday patient appreciation event can not happen this year, but we look back fondly on last years epic event at Winterfest at Canada’s Wonderland. We look forward to seeing all our wonderful families in the future when we are able to do so safely.

Dental appointments can be particularly challenging for children with autism. Desensitization techniques such as repeated visits and practice at home could help improve their experience. At The Children’s Dental Centre, we manage the dental needs of your child while making the experience a positive one.

Have you lost a tooth? Have you read Throw Your Tooth On The Roof? This delightful children’s book is full of different tooth traditions around the world. Learn about the many similarities and differences children have when it comes to losing their teeth. What do you do with your teeth when they fall out? BANGLADESH: I throw my tooth in a mouse or rat hole and hope the mice will give me back strong white teeth like theirs. I usually get a present when I do this. CHILE: I giv...e my tooth to my mother. She will have it made into a charm, set in gold or silver, so I can wear it as a necklace or an earring. LIBYA: I throw my tooth at the sun and say Bring me a new tooth. My father tells me that I have a bright smile because my teeth come from the sun. CAMEROON: I throw my tooth over the roof shouting, Take this bad tooth and bring me a new one. Then I hop around my house on one foot and everyone laughs. JAPAN: If I lose an upper tooth, I throw it in the dirt. If I lose a lower tooth, I throw it on the roof. My new tooth will grow toward the old one and will come in straight. Throw Your Tooth On The Roof by Shelby B. Beeler.

1 + 1 = ZERO! That’s right, ONE dental visit when there’s ONE tooth can equal ZERO cavities. We recommend a dental visit for children by age one or when their first tooth appears!
