We have been working very hard on adding this much-needed portion of the course and are excited to offer it this Spring! Hi Everyone! We are excited to share some of our upcoming workshop opportunities! Please read some information about our offerings for this Spring below: Beginning April 8th, our Parenting workshop is being held at the Adler Centre. The parenting workshop is the Adler Centre’s most popular workshop. It is open to parents, soon-to-be-parents, teachers, and the general public (with, expecting, or without children). It is an 8-week parenting group based on the STEP (systematic t...raining in effective parenting) method. The workshop provides parents with theory and techniques in a supportive and engaging way, helping to build a toolkit to raise capable, cooperative, and responsible children. The workshop is discussion based and molded around the participants, meaning that the participants themselves provide most of the discussion and topics, and parents work together around these issues. Additional reading and homework are also given after every class, mostly for parents to practice what they have learned during that day. Our April workshop is 8 sessions, once per week, held on Wednesdays from 6-8pm. The dates are April 8th, 15th, 22nd, 29th, May 6th, 13th, 20th, 27th. The workshop is held at the Adler Centre, which is located at 440 - 2184 West Broadway (Between Arbutus Street and Yew Street). The total cost of the workshop is $200 for an individual, or $300 for couples or those who live in the same household. Limited financial assistance may be available upon request. Should you have any additional questions about the clinic or our programs, please do not hesitate to ask, our community Liaison, Anna Goren would be happy to help you.
