During these trying times it is important to remember that everyone is struggling in one way, shape or form. The majority of people are struggling financially and many are also struggling mentally. Please remember: 1) BE COMPASSIONATE - If someone yells at you or is upset, it is not necessarily directed at you. It could just be what they have going on. React calmly and try to find out what's going on and see if you can help. 2) BE HELPFUL - Help people, especially the elderly..., because they are the people we need to protect the most. Offer to go out and get groceries and/or do errands to help however you can. 3) SHOP LOCAL - It may cost you a bit more, or maybe not, but buy everything from small, 100% local stores, including takeout from local restaurants. Barring that, at least buy the goods that you need from local retailers. 4) TAKE TIME - Many people will struggle with various mental health issues. Be patient and take time to engage with people to help them cope. This includes the elderly. 5) BE AVAILABLE - Take time to plan and do family activities that do not involve watching TV or being on your phone or other electronic device. Spring has sprung!
