Today marks 2 years since we opened Active Integrative Medicine! Although we continue to remain temporarily closed due to COVID-19, we wanted to say THANK YOU to all of our patients and staff who have supported our clinic over the last couple of years. Dear Active Integrative Medicine patients, For the health and safety of our staff and patients, and to adhere to our responsibility of social distancing, we have made the very difficult decision to temporarily close our clinic. Given the uncertainty of the situation, we will remain closed until the Ministry of Health and our respective regulatory colleges recommend that it is safe to resume regular care for our patients. What does this mean for our patients?... We will be closed from March 19th, 2020 until further notice All upcoming appointments with all practitioners are cancelled effective immediately We will not be rescheduling appointments at this time due to our indefinite closure. Once the clinic re-opens, we will begin contacting patients then to reschedule appointments. Our online booking system is temporarily shutdown Naturopath Patients: If you are in need of a supplement refill, you can email us at [email protected]. We are partnered with the virtual dispensary Full Script. Through them, you can order your supplements and have it delivered to your door. We will provide updates via email, Instagram, and Facebook with regards to changes in clinic operations These are difficult times for us all, and we want to ensure we are doing our part in taking all precautionary measures against this virus. We feel at Active Integrative Medicine that our patients and staff come first, which is why we know this is the right decision to keep everyone in our community safe and healthy. We truly value each and every one of you, and we appreciate your patience, understanding, and support during such unprecedented times. We hope you and your families are all in good health, and we look forward to seeing you all when we re-open. Thank you, The AIM Clinic
As we continue to monitor the COVID-19 pandemic, our clinic remains open, and we are operating on a day-to-day basis. To date, our respective colleges have not mandated suspension of acute care/emergency appointments. Active Integrative Medicine is compassionate to our patients' needs, and reviewing patients on a case by case basis. We will provide ongoing updates as needed, and continue to abide by the recommendations given from each of our regulatory bodies. ...We wanted to update you on additional measures we have taken to ensure the health and safety of our patients and staff. Please be aware of the following measures that will be effective immediately: Prior to your appointment, you will be screened over the phone. When you arrive to your appointment, you will be screened once again, and asked to sign a waiver indicating you are in good health. Your temperature will be taken by your practitioner. Appointments with our practitioners will be staggered, as to limit the number of patients in the clinic. Our front door will remain locked. Only patients who have appointments will be allowed entry, and front desk staff will greet you. For all Naturopathic follow-up appointments, we encourage phone consultations where possible. Masks are available at the front desk for patient use. In addition to what is mentioned above, we will continue to diligently follow Public Health Ontario’s Cleaning and Disinfection protocol throughout our clinic. See more

Adjustments can help provide pain relief, increase mobility, and restore proper movement of the joint.... . Shoveling snow can be hard on your body, especially if you aren't mindful of your posture. To avoid back pain when shovelling, remember these tips: - Stand with your feet hip-width apart to maintain your balance - Hold the shovel close to your body to refrain from straining or pulling a muscle - Space your hands apart when gripping the shovel to increase your leverage when lifting the snow - Bend from your knees (not your back) when lifting, and engage your core. This will pr...otect your back as you lift. - Avoid twisting your body when lifting. Move your feet instead to turn your body. - Turn your feet in the direction you’re dumping the snow, and place it as opposed to throwing it. . Be safe, and happy shoveling! .
