Whether you are wearing gloves or NOT - if you touch a surface and then touch another surface, you WILL be cross-contaminating. If you touch a can of beans that someone had just previously coughed on and then touch you...r face, more groceries, your wallet - you ARE going to contaminate those areas (just like you would if you were to touch the can with bare hands) Wearing gloves gives many people a false sense of reassurance, so they actually end up washing their hands less and unfortunately increase their chance of infection Remember - the virus we are dealing with right now won’t infect you as long as you don’t touch your face (mouth, eyes, nose)! If you’re out running errands, it’s most important to 1. Not touch your face and 2. Wash your hands (or sanitize) after running errands - ------- In addition to @yournursingeducator It is also the same concept about wearing mask. Not because you're wearing mask, weather it is the disposable or washable mask and even n95. If its not fit right or worn properly (for n95, you have to get tested for it to be able to know the right size of n95 mask you can wear). Same as with the disposable mask it is only a one time use (here's a an informative video from WHO https://www.who.int//advice-for-/when-and-how-to-use-masks ) and of course same goes to a resuable/washable mask, after you use it wash and replace the filter. It doesn't mean because the mask is reusable/washable you can use at x amount of time without washing it. There's is a high risk of cross contamination.
