Three years ago this weekend, I launched my Alterations by Kirby page and was blown away by the response. I have always said that I have the BEST clients in the world, and that still holds true. I am so excited to be able to make your alteration experience more convenient without losing any of the personal experience my clients are used to. ... The Alteration Shoppe will be open for business as of August 4th, with temporary Covid hours of 10 am to 3 pm, Monday to Friday. I am looking forward to extending these hours as I am able to in the near future. If you need a fitting outside of these hours, I am available. Send me a message and we can set up a time. Bridal and grad fittings will be by appointment so that I am able to dedicate time to you in the the private fitting room. If I am currently working on something for you, I will move it to The Shoppe and message you with pick up details! A mask is required at all times while in The Shoppe for everyone's health and safety. Please practice physical distancing from other customers when in shared spaces. I am in the process of getting the phone hooked up still, but message here until then! Or stop by 1254 3rd Ave South (Lethbridge, AB) to say hi! Shoppe update! Things are coming along and I can't wait for you to see the space! We spent some time this week painting an accent wall in the Shoppe's private bridal fitting room! I won't reveal the colours just yet, but I love how it turned out! ... If you've been to my home studio you've seen my painted stripe wall, and I needed to carry some of that design forward with me to my new space! This weekend is moving time for me and I'm excited but will also miss my cozy home studio. Thanks for all the continued support, I couldn't do this without my amazing clients!! P.s. Yes, you read that right. I have a completely PRIVATE Bridal fitting room with enough room for you and your entire group. This allows you to bring your group with you but enables only them to see you in your dress before the big day!

ANNOUNCEMENT TIME!! . ..... ... .... I am THRILLED to announce that I am opening a STOREFRONT! I have been dreaming of expanding for a while and after a string of serendipitous events, I am finally doing it! I love being in Lethbridge and I love how supportive all of you are so I decided the time is NOW. The owner of Silver Threads (Karen B.) has retired after 17 years and I have purchased her business from her. In doing so, I will be merging our two businesses and changing locations! We have been busy behind the scenes for a few months dealing with all the details and I can't wait for you to see the new space. Along with a new location comes a new name, and Alterations By Kirby will soon become The Alteration Shoppe. How will this impact you? It will make things so much better - it will be easier for you to find me, I will have set store hours, if you have a small project there is no appointment needed, I will have a staff member to answer the phone and field questions, along with a slew of other benefits to you! If I am currently working on something for you, I will message you personally with details about my moving date and schedule a fitting/pick up date for you. We are on schedule to open early August. Keep an eye out here for more details and a contest to celebrate the Shoppe opening! I CANNOT WAIT for you to see what The Alteration Shoppe has to offer you!! 500 likes! Thank you so much for all the continued support! I still have an exciting announcement coming soon.... but here's part one of it. ... I can now take DEBIT payments! Okay, maybe this is more exciting to me than you.... but, it means no more sending an etransfer or stopping at the bank, you can just tap and go!

Check out this gorgeous dress! This beautiful bride dropped off her dress pre Covid and due to the Government closure, she was unable to try it on again at pick up which meant I got a one shot fitting (without knowing that ahead of time!). I took the dress in at the bust, adjusted the cup slightly, hemmed the beautiful lace, and added new straps that made a more flattering line on her back. ... I'm so thrilled that it all worked out! Thanks to my amazing clients for your support through Covid as well as trusting me to pick up a dress with no fitting! Things are slowly returning to "normal for me and I can't wait to see you all!

Thank you to all my AMAZING clients for supporting me during this very strange time. I definitely miss being busy! That being said, I am very slowly working on processes to have me open again and (mostly) in full swing by June 22nd. I have already began booking fittings for then. Masks will be required for all fittings until further notice. If we have chatted in the past about meeting up when I am open again, please send me a quick message so we can arrange a fitting! ... I can't wait to see you all soon!

To all my wonderful clients, I am still here, I am still working on dresses, and I am not going anywhere! I have been in touch with several of you regarding upcoming appointments and have decided to postpone appointments that can be rearranged for right now. ... In order to conduct a proper fitting, I need to break the two meter physical distancing barrier and for everyone's safety, I do not want to take any unnecessary risks by doing so. For the time being, I am holding off on most fittings until mid-April (with a few exceptions due to timelines). I am currently working on the dresses I have here already and will continue to do so unless you contact me and ask me not to. If you have postponed your wedding, please let me know, otherwise I will assume your wedding date still stands. This goes for grads as well. I have had some truly lovely conversations with brides over the last week or so and my heart goes out to you. My husband and I just got married last year, and I can only imagine the extra stress this is putting on everyone. But, at the end of the day, the important thing is that you’re marrying the person you want to spend the rest of your life with quarantine or not! This is a crazy time, but there is a light at the end of the tunnel! Some of you may have to change your date, or your plans, but it will make for one heck of a story to tell your kids one day! I will be in touch when I start fittings again and we can arrange a time for you to come see your beautiful dress. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to ask.
