With September here, the last week has had us reflecting on the last 6 months and we just needed to sit down and put into words how insanely grateful...like tears in my eyes grateful...both Steve and I (Diane) are for you all... Looking back at March (which seems like yesterday and two years ago all at the same time), there was so much chaos - trying to figure out what we were supposed to do (this wasn't covered in 'Business for Dummies'!) and how our shops were going to make... it through this. As a business owner - I'm not sure there will ever be anything else that matches the stress that we felt. And then...we felt the love... Our staff - we know how great you guys are, but even you surprised us. Checking in with us, offering to help (literally everyday! haha), sharing photos of new arrivals, and answering questions from friends and family on how do some shopping in this new world - all while you were laid off! And since then, you've all worked harder than we could have expected - taking the new protocols in stride - all with a smile on your face...it's behind the mask we promise ;) Our amazing customers...we have always taken a huge amount of pride from telling people that we have the most awesome, loyal customer base and if there ever was any doubt - you all proved us 1000% right. Those of you who were checking in, ordering online (or by phone, text, Instagram/Facebook message), taking advantage of our free local delivery (I've never been so happy to drive up to Arrow Heights, even through the detour haha) and private, socially distanced, shopping appointments while we were closed - and visiting us in store and continuing to order online since we've been open - THANK YOU. I’m not usually great at sitting back and appreciating things, but with our 3 year anniversary of opening The Annex today, amidst all this Covid chaos - I have certainly spent the last week reflecting, reminiscing, and fully appreciating everybody who made this little shop possible! . As some of you know, this shop was put together on a whim when the space became available. We signed a lease and then spent the next 60 days ordering, planning, painting and working harder than... we knew we could. Long days, late nights, and now looking back - it was certainly worth it. . Over the last 3 years, the store has grown and is something we feel is a true reflection of us, full of products we love and can stand behind 100%. Our customers and our team are second to none, and we couldn’t be more grateful for you all. . Thank you to everybody has supported us for the last three years, and here’s to many more years! . We’ve had another big delivery of bedding plants because you guys were so excited about them last week! We have begonias (nonstop and rieger), Alyssum, potato vine, ornamental grasses, marigolds, and a bunch of assorted herbs. If you would like us to put something aside for you, let us know as some of going fast (marigolds and Herbs!) and won’t last long...
