Thursday is one day away from Friday, and Friday is basically the weekend... so... is it the weekend now?? //
I mean pull my arm and ask if we'd be willing to go to the top of a mountain so you can exchange vows while surrounded by a mountain range... okay fine! haha Of course we will! //

Black and white photographs will always always always remain in style //
Walking into Monday like you mean it! We've been getting really revved up for here for all the new things we're going to be working on over the next couple of months. We're building and designing two new websites, one for our wedding work and one for our commercial work. We're creating a bunch of special content for Instagram and something else, big and exciting that we can't quite share yet... news and announcements to come ;) Wish us luck! //
Bathtubs and bubbles just go hand in hand right?? //
Love being there for the little moments, like your dad coming to see you, wish you luck and take you down the aisle //
Light and shadow, our favourite two elements when creating images //
A few of our favourites from Bella and Scott's wedding day, never a bad idea to open a bottle of champs! That's what we say :) //
Excited to be headed back to Tofino tomorrow!! It's going to be wet and cold and oddly, we are looking forward to it! //
Yesterday the runner ups, category winners and overall winner of the 2020 International Wedding Photographer of the Year was announced and we just have to say what a pleasure and honour it was to judge such a prestigious competition. We believe the spirit of photography competitions is less about the recognition and prizes and more about the community building and the experience you gain by participating. In terms of community, competitions bring people together, literally fr...om around the world. By seeing and interacting with artists from around the world we get to see and learn how their perspectives activate and influence their work. Without learning and education we can not grow and evolve. Ever since we started submitting to competitions we have seen how our work has been inspired for the better and we encourage our fellow colleagues to keep submitting, keep learning and never for a second think they won't achieve their goals. Congrats again to all the winners this year!! Well deserved! // See more
This way to the beach //
Something magical and unexpected to come about from having to have a smaller weddings on account of the "Rona", is how meaningful and remarkable the experience becomes for everyone involved. The intimacy of the moments grow exponentially and having witnessed first hand how the heart can swell in those times, we can attest to their beauty and grace //
Our love for Whistler or should I say, love in Whistler just keeps coming. One of our favourite moments with Lauren and Ryan from their wedding on New Year's Eve almost two years ago //
We've got to give it up for the weather gods! We had two small weddings the last two Saturdays and the weather forecast leading up to each day was for rain, lots and lots of rain. The first Saturday, it literally poured the whole day before and even until the ceremony, then suddenly it stopped. It stayed dry until the dinner when it started coming down again. Then this past Saturday it did the exact same thing, rain the day before and miraculously stop just in time for the we...dding! Whistler is particularly hard for rain backup plans because there aren't a lot of venues that have covered outdoor spaces (that are nice) and besides, most people get married in Whistler for how beautiful the landscape is and not for decor inside their hotels. If we had a few tips for wet or snowy weddings they would be: 1) Wear leggings and boots under your dress while you're outside for photographs, you can't see them and a warm bride is a happy bride. 2) Procure clear or white umbrellas. They let the most light in and on a cloudy day you'll need all the light you can get. Coloured umbrellas cast unsightly tones onto your face so stay clear of those, unless you're going for that orange face look 3) Be realistic about what you want to get out of creatives/portraits if it's raining or super cold, have a backup plan and discuss ideas with your photographer // See more
Can't believe it's been two years since we last saw these two. They've been on so many adventure since then and have even started a family!! Total gems and a great inspiration for travel and lifestyle, we found them years ago on Insta and are so happy we had the chance to hangout together in Munich. Check them out if you want some travel inspo @kiss_nfly //
Reminiscing over travel this weekend obviously! One of our favourite moments from our trip to Munich, photographing these two in the hills of Tergernsee. Fun fact, we had our first real german meal the day after their wedding when they took us out for dinner... soooo good but you could practically roll us back to our airbnb afterwards we were so full! //
That time we split a bottle of champagne after a session and cruised the canals of Venice with these two Take us back PLEASE!!! //
Loving yourself is as important as loving someone else Do both and see what kind of space it creates for relationships in your life //
On Saturday, Cat and I celebrated our 14th year as a couple together... full disclosure it was the date we both agreed we were "boyfriend and girlfriend . It's been a wild ride with super highs and even a few super lows but the truth is we are both so lucky to have found each other so early on in our lives because we've been able to witness and be a part of each other's growth as individuals and be there to support one another. The first 9 pics are from recent years and incl...ude our travels to France, Italy, Japan, Indonesia and even a couple of shots from when we attended Dapper Days at Disneyland in California, a 20s theme day as it were. We dressed up as adventurers that were going exploring deep into the jungle. Goes without saying I am so thankful to have Cat in my life and couldn't imagine anyone else fake exploring the jungle with . The last shot is one of the first photos of us from 2007 // See more
I'd like to report that our renos are done and show you all our progress but I think we are still another week out! lol. Someone should write a book entitled, "Renos: it'll cost twice as much and take 4 times longer than expected. Here's what you need to know." In other news, how cute are these two?? //
Hope everyone had a lovely Canadian Thanksgiving weekend... speaking of Canadian Thanksgiving, when you were growing up were you constantly confused about why in American TV shows like Friends, the Thanksgiving episode was always next to the Christmas episode? And you'd asked yourself, where did November go?? Okay maybe that was just me! lol //
A (Canadian) Thanksgiving wedding weekend this family is surely going to remember. From our family to yours, Happy Thanksgiving //
