Today I was surprised with a beautiful and incredibly thoughtful gift from one of my employees. A gorgeous turtle bracelet. Why was this so thoughtful you ask? This wasn’t just any gift. You see, I carry a product line called Kevin Murphy in my barbershops, a company that recycles ocean plastic and reuses it to put their products in. I witnessed firsthand the devastation that man has inflicted upon our dear turtles while deep sea fishing in Los Cobos years ago, when we found ...a large sea turtle floating beside the boat with a large plastic bag wrapped around its neck cutting into its skin. We were able to pull the helpless turtle into the boat and cut the bag off allowing the turtle to float away. I feel so incredibly fortunate to have been able to witness this. Being able to help even one sea creature was one of the best feelings and I’ll never forget the experience. And so carrying products and supporting a company that takes part in removing the floating garbage from our oceans just feels good. The proceeds for the bracelets go towards saving the turtles conservancy and you get to track the turtle that you sponsor. My turtles name is Freckles. And yes, I cried. Thank you Pam! See more
