Our next TDS Alumni: Lindsey Middleton! Lindsey Middleton hails from the teeny town of Ridgeway, Ontario. Lindsey is best known for playing Vanessa on the internationally award-winning, Toronto based web series, Out With Dad. Lindsey has won two Indie Series Awards for Best Supporting Actress, an IAWTV Award for Best Female Performance in a Drama and has been nominated for a Canadian Screen Award. She has worked as a puppeteer both on film and under black light and is also t...he co-creator of HappyHer, a documentary web series focused on sharing women’s stories about happiness from all over the world. Lindsey is also one of the co-creators and writers of the IGTV show Just Hysterics, a collective creating female-forward comedy sketches that has been recognized at both Stareable Fest and TO WebFest. As a writer, Lindsey workshopped her first play entitled Session at the Paprika Festival in 2019 and is about to debut her second play she co-wrote entitled UNMUTE with Theatre of the Beat. We’re introducing our Alumni Series! We’ll be checking in on the recent achievements and upcoming endeavours of TDS graduates. First up is Alexia Vassos! Alexia Vassos is an actor, writer and voice over artist currently based outside the GTA. A graduate from the Theatre and Drama Studies joint program between the University of Toronto Mississauga and Sheridan College, she holds a Bachelor of Arts with Honours and an Advanced Diploma in Acting. Her recent theatrical production...s include Three Sisters (Theatre Erindale), Nothing but the Tooth (Newmarket National Play Festival) and Written in Stone (NNPF). Her television and film endeavours consist of roles on Dark Side of the Ring (Vice), Paranormal Nightshift (Bristow Global Media) as well as a current commercial campaign for a major online retailer. Most recently, she was one of twelve participants selected by Expect Theatre to participate in the Playwriting Unit Beats + Intentions. Under the guidance of performer and playwright Anna Chatterton, Alexia has spent the past two months creating content for a solo show.
