Hey guys, The weather is getting nicer, and I’ve come up with a challenge to get you outside enjoying it more often! For each good meal you have in a day you owe yourself a 10 minute walk. For each meal that you cheat/eat crap/had unhealthy food you owe 20 minutes of walking for that meal. For each snack/calorie dense drink you consume you owe a 15 minute walk. ... This is a challenge not only to get you outside exercising a little, it will also challenge how you think. You will look at that cookie or bag of chips differently if you hold yourself accountable to walking to earn it. It may no longer be worth a 15 minute walk. If you tackle this challenge I’d like to hear about it, good luck guys! Some examples: 1. Cereal for breakfast, sandwich at lunch, chicken breast for dinner = 30 minute walk 2. Tim’s for breakfast because I woke up late and needed to get to work, sandwich, steak = 40 minute walk 3. Tim’s breakfast, yogurt and apple for lunch, little caesars pizza for dinner, and a bag of chips = 65 minute walk

*****NV Fitness gives back to Huron Out of the Cold! ********* Facility Leader Melissa Wormington and the FBBC team along with several members of our FBBC 12:15pm session, were pleased to present Shannon Daniels from Huron Out of the Cold with a donation this morning. Huron Out of the Cold is a temporary Homeless Shelter in Goderich which operates from November - April. The shelter had provided refuge for up to 13 people at a time on any given night so far this winter and ...is grateful to the community for any and all donations to help offset the costs. We are pleased to support this constant and growing need in our community and presented Shannon today with over $100 worth of pairs of gloves and hand warming kits. Each month we support a different local charity or organization in a number of different ways including Facebook check ins. ****THE BAR GIVES BACK TO THE WIG ROOM***** Last night Owner Nadine VandenHeuvel, Facility Leader Melissa Wormington, Direction of Operations Justine Vanveen and Coach Penny Israels were very pleased to present Kathy from The WIg Room in Stratford with a donation of $2900 worth of headscarves, shawls and wraps for their program! Located in Stratford, The Wig Room is a volunteer organization that provides a selection of wigs, hats and scarves to cancer care patients in South...western Ontario. Through community fundraising and individual donations, The Wig Room has been able to provide wigs and head accessories free of charge to their clients. Throughout the month of October, we participated in a number of fundraising efforts to support The Wig Room, in honour of Breast Cancer Awareness Month. For each member that tried our programs in October we donated 100% of the profits of those trials to The Wig Room. We also held several "Bring a Buddy" days, a very successful "Toonies for Smoothies" Day and in partnership with Schaefer's Ladies Wear we hosted a Sports Bra Fitting Clinic, where owner Anne Ferguson generously donated $5 from each bra sold to The Wig Room as well. Special Thanks to Schaefer's Ladies Wear for their support throughout the month of October and for assisting us in sourcing the shawls, wraps and headscarves for The Wig Room. Kathy was overwhelmed with gratitude in receiving such a large donation and reports this is the largest donation they have ever received to date. She especially appreciated the high quality wraps and scarves as she says those going through chemo treatments feel it's like being wrapped in a hug during such a difficult time. The Wig Room in Stratford supports over 100 clients each year from all over Southwestern Ontario and it has been our pleasure to help provide them with these resources. Huge Thanks to all of our members for such amazing support to this cause throughout the month of October. The impact made from this $2900 donation is far reaching and supports people we know right here in our community! We are so proud to be part of such a generous and charity focused fitness family!

If you want to drop 10-20 lbs over the Holiday Season...good for you! It’s a tough time of year and I still want you to enjoy all of the stuff that comes with it! So let’s just try to maintain your current weight... and if you do I’ll chalk that up as a win considering the majority of people gain 10-20 lbs over the Holiday Season. . . Everything in moderation. . Focuses for the Holiday Season: Daily = Fitness at least 30 minutes a day. Daily = Drink half your body weight in ounces. Ie) if you are 200 pounds, drink half your body weight in ounces per day. Daily = Get 7-9 hours of quality sleep. . Let’s just focus on the simple things and you will be part of the small percentage that DOES NOT gain the 10-20 lbs of Holiday Weight this Christmas Season. .
