The Ontario Basketball Association issued an update on the 2020-2021 season this afternoon. Due to the ongoing pandemic and associated health measures, OBA will be postponing the start of the competitive schedule until January 2021. The Board will be reviewing what this means for our club. In preparation for the 2020-21 season we are looking for coaches. If you are interested please complete the online application by July 18, 2020. Application Link: https://forms.gle/tZ9Mtu3iKHiScLZu9 Successful candidates will begin to be notified on July 31, 2020. Please understand that we will contact the successful Head Coach first, once that position is filled we will contact the successful Assistant Coach.... All coaches must have a current Criminal Reference Check and be trained through NCCP in the appropriate level for the age group they wish to coach. If training is required the Barrie Royals can help coaches acquire this.

Starting this month, our Centre Court Sponsor, Mind to Muscle is offering Youth Athlete Development sessions (YAD). Sessions will be divided by age with U13 and U16 training groups. These sessions will provide the opportunity to train in an age-specific program, that will be tailored around the demands of these age groups. The program will also be easy to sign up for and pay, using our online click-and-pay system. This program will run throughout the months of June, July and August. There is no sign-up commitment or fees, with athletes only signing up and paying for sessions they can attend. Space is limited for each session, so make sure to sign up early to reserve your spot. www.mindtomuscle.ca

Ontario Basketball COVID-19 Update: In accordance to Canadian and global health authorities, has made the difficult decision to cancel all programs including the remaining OBA Championships on the 2020 calendar through May for U13 athletes and older. We are extending the deadline to order photos from our club photo night to April 20. Please ensure you order before then! Also, if you choose to order a team photo it will be in addition to the one the club is providing to families.
