Covid 19, second wave, mandatory lockdown update!!! . As of Dec 26th 2020 The Beauty Barn will be closing all hair and aesthetic services for the recommended 28 day period. We will be contacting all our clients to move there appointments ahead and pre book our existing clients. .... I would also like to reassure people who are thinking of purchasing gift cards for the holidays that this is still a great gift idea. There is no expiry on our purchased cards. The Beauty Barn came out of the first wave successfully serving 2170 appointments and hosting our awakening event happily able to report that we have had no outbreaks within our spa, staff or clients. . We have been able to pivot accordingly and successfully & We will be honoring all gift cards when we reopen after the second shutdown. . Our Registered Massage Therapist are still permitted to work. We will have curbside retail pickup & RMT appointment’s. This will only be available on Mondays and Wednesday. As of Jan 2021 We will be checking our messages & returning any calls on Mondays and Wednesdays until we re open. . You may have heard that Brantford and The surrounding area is moving into stage orange as of Monday. For us in the Service industry that means we can not provide any treatments where a mask needs to be removed (Facials) we will be contacting all per booked facials to give them the option of keeping there appointment using this smaller self adhesive mask. These masks are made in Canada, The fabric is made of 100% cotton, breathable and is designed to mimic human skin and allow for a comfortable, flexible fit. As usual your service provider will continue to wears a mask / shield, gloves keeping you both protected. These masks have been purchased and are on their way we can not offer any facials until they have arrived. Our magazine has finally arrived This mag will be gifted into each one of the toast bags given to the awakening to better beauty recipients. The magazine features our Beauty Barn story & how our Awakening to Better Beauty project started! For anyone who hasn’t heard about this event. This is the one thing I can say that I’m most proud of. Giving back to our community is a blessing and I’m very grateful to be able to do this event & also everyone who helps make this awesom...e event come to life. Awakening is an annual one day event that with the help of our oncology nursing staff at BGH, treats local women in our community going through cancer treatment to a complimentary day of pampering spa services, makeup, wig & hair styling, lunch, tea party, keepsake photoshoot, gift bag’s ect... it’s a day filled with love and compassion for these women who have been focused on life saving treatments and multiple Drs appointments. We use this one day as a day of self care and love. To nurture the whole self with safer beauty, smiles and laughter. In 2014 Tonia from @delicateimpressions and I hosted this style of event with a single event in mind to honor her mother, friends & clients going through treatment. Since hosting that event, I was blown away to see just how much this day meant to the ladies and how it lifted there spirits. I always had in the back of my mind the idea of how I could take this event concept and make it so much bigger and better. After the opening of the Beauty Barn in 2017 we now had a great location to host and we have been able to turn this into our favorite annual event. Given the turn of events that 2020 has given us we have had to cancle all our events and restructure this one. With the help of @mcavanaugh82 & the oncology nursing staff at the Brantford general we are able to keep a portion of the event going. That means we don’t half to miss out on awakening 2020. This year we are not accepting volunteers as we need to be mindful of the COVID restrictions.
