Considering that I was brought up to believe that Noxema (if any of you remember that ) was the epitome of night creams it’s a miracle I ever clued into it. But I literally started in my 20’s. I stuck on a hat and resolutely kept my face out of the sun for decades. It was not enough as I get older. I found an incredible aesthetician where I live and she has become my go to-fix my skin person for the last several years. Her name is Holly and her business is called @thebeautyloungebyholly She introduced me to chemical peels after my first cancer diagnosis and my skin was in need of help. And now I am hooked. This photo is of me with no makeup, no filter, no lights... I freely admit to being 63. She describes the processes below. I had mine a week ago. There is no downtime. Holly explains below. What is Dermaplaning? This is a treatment option that involves removing all the dead skin cells and vellus hair(peach fuzz) from the face with a surgical scalpel. This process triggers cell rejuvenation by removing the old dead skin cells and allowing new skin cells to generate. What is a chemical peel ? A chemical peel is similar to a dermaplaning treatment in that it is also a process that triggers cell rejuvenation and deep exfoliation. During this treatment an enzyme or chemical is applied to your face removing any dead skin and the very outer most layer of the skin cells, as a result the growth of new skin cells will be triggered. Combining Dermaplaning with a chemical peel will cause deeper penetration of the peel and your skin care products will become much more effective because of the deeper level of exfoliation created. Using these treatment methods together will reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles as well as brighten pigmentation caused by sun damage, leaving you with a more radiant, even and glowing skin.
