The pic says it all ... I was certain 2020 was going to be MY YEAR I’ve always loved this time of year because I actually get to TAKE A BREAK and stop working (which is rare for this little work horse ) I also try to be as present as possible with my family (I miss so many family nights during the year ). I’ve never been great at relaxing, but this lockdown I have to admit is fuelling my creativity & drive for the new year. I was thinking back on 2020 & I rea...lized somethingYES 2020 was NOT the year I expected YES 2020 challenged me BUT 2020 was NOT ALL BAD! There’s good that comes out of every difficult situation & I think it’s important to focus on the GOOD things that 2020 brought us all, even if it seems small or wasn’t what we expected. So I will go first! 2020 brought me: 1 My love @francesco.tbr moved back home to Windsor to be with me We have created a beautiful life together and I’m truly thankful for all he does for me and TBR 2 We took the most incredible trip to Punta Cana and loved every minute we spent @secretsresorts together 3 We opened our gorgeous salon @beauty_refinery_yqg We renovated it top to bottom and we couldn’t be any prouder of it Definitely the highlight of the year 4 Time off gave copious amounts of family time (especially with our nieces and nephew ) watching them grow has definitely been a blessing 5 Health & Happiness ( GOD willing ) With all that’s been happening we’re lucky to be safe Okay now it’s your turn! The BIG question I’m asked about often is how to use Instagram to help build your brand and following Here are some simple Instagram stories tips that I use daily Use Hashtags and locations on all of your stories! Tanya tip : use the typewriter font and type up to 10 hashtags (separately). You will want them so small that they disappear. You can also change the color of the font to match the picture you’re posting so you don’t distract from the purpose of your story!... Show your face. People follow you for YOU! Show your face, talk on your stories, let people see the real you! This is going to help grow a true real following that follows you for YOU! Personal branding is essential. Speaking of talking on your stories CAPTION YOUR TALKING VIDEOS!! So many users watch stories in places that they can’t turn on volume or they just don’t bother to actually listen. Caption your talking videos with a small bit explaining what you are saying in the video! This way people can still take advantage of what you’re saying if they can’t listen, OR they can decide that what you’re talking about is something they want to turn the sound on for and listen to!! Have clear, concise text. I think we all learned this tip in school on how to make a good presentation... too much text is not good!!! Keep your text to a minimum! Unnecessary text on your stories makes it too busy and people are going to get lost or bored! If you have a lot to say GO LIVE! ( something I even need to do more ) Remember CONNECTING + CONVERSATIONS = longtime clients and followers I could go on but I think that’s enough for today. How many photos does it take? Not just one! You need MANY just so you can find that perfect pose and light reflecting off the client just right. My recommendation for starters is take 20 and then choose. Then you’ll see how important it is and the options you’ll have. I personally take about 20-40 per client And then post about 2-3 photos tops!... I also schedule photo time into my appointments and try different lighting depending on time of day and how much natural lighting I have in my room.
