The Township of Brock with support from the local Lions Clubs will be offering "Stay at Home Kits" which are FREE activity bags, to keep your family entertained... on Canada Day. Kits are available only for residents of Brock Township. Limit of one kit per family. Kits will be available from a safe, physically distanced pickup on June 30th at each of the arenas. The safety and well being of our community members and volunteers is of the ...utmost importance to us all and with the ongoing COVID-19 restrictions and outlook for them to be continuing our Canada Day Comittee members had to make the difficult decision to cancel the 2020 event. Fun starts again tonight at the Fairgrounds starting at 6pm with Kids entertainment, BBQ with the Lions, Paw Patrol, fun games for the kids, Live music with the Bogies and Tres Hombres, and then the Spectacular Fireworks! See you all there!

Kicking off Canada Day at the Beaverton Curling Club with Paw Patrol and a pancake breakfast hosted by the Beaverton Lions Club. Congratulations to Helen Alsop... for receiving the 2019 Harold Lodwick Citizenship Award. Helen is a longtime volunteer in Brock Township. This recognition is well-deserved. Canada Day fun starts again down at the fairgrounds at 6pm, with Lions BBQ. 7pm Concert with The Stone Man and 8pm Whisky Mojo. Free facepainting for the kids and bouncy castles and of course we will end the night with our spectacular Fireworks!

Thank you to the Beaverton Thorah Eldon Historical Society, who dropped by our meeting last night with a donation to the fireworks! Don't forget to support BTEHS this Sunday on Canada Day as they serve up their famous Strawberry Shortcake at the Beaverton Curling Rink starting at noon.

Congratulations to Beaverton Lions member John Lambert , this year's recipient of the Harold Lodwick Citizenship Award. John has been a member of the Beaverton... Lions Club for 40 years, along with years of volunteering for the Beaverton Fall Fair, St.Andrews United Church and Brock Community Care. John has instilled the importance of volunteerism to his family with 3 generations of Lamberts as members of the Lions Club. Lion John has donated his $2000 endowment from the Lodwick Award to the Beaverton Lions Club's walking trail project at the fairgrounds. Thank you Lion John for your years of service and your commitment to our community! See more

Beaverton and District Conservation Club sponsored the Cane Pole Fishing Derby at Beaverton ' s 150 celebration today at the pier. 93 children, 59 boys and 34... girls took part. 36 fish were caught. Kennedy Harris, 8, from Beaverton was the winner of the girls division with her 8" fish. Kadyn Severn, 8, from Florida, USA won the boys division with his 9 5/8" catch. Congratulations to all participants. See more
