Let’s be honest. During these times, it would be WEIRD to not feel a bit down sometimes. For me, when I’m feeling a bit bummed out, I think about things that made me really happy especially those memories that have the strongest feelings attached to them. . This picture was taken 4 years ago now. It was the first summer of our business, and we were killing it. Within our first few months, the #BeerBus was featured in the @globeandmail , @977maxfm and other huge media platfo...rms. We were buildingquicklya fun and professional reputation. It was our summer (@emilymcdebski ) and we felt like rockstars. . It was a warm summer night, probably 25 degrees in the evening. @wasagabeachbrewco was hosting their weekly karaoke, we had ice cold #lagers and steaming poutine, the beach was full and the sky was prettier than I’ve ever seen. I was with my (soon to be at that point) fiancé, @emilymcdebski , and over the moon in love (still am). It was perfect. I just smiled wow. . Were hoping for better times, when the true #BeerBus experience is possible once again. We also believe that keeping our staff and communities safe is always number 1. The Beer Bus is about hosting groups of craft beer, wine, cider and spirit- curious people, but were not quite ready to host groups or tours, this year. As the Owner of The Beer Bus Company, it pains me to make this call, but I also know that running a business means PEOPLE over profit. I wont be risking the... health of my staff, partners and customers to make a few bucks and run bus tours (frankly, tough to manage and guarantee adherence to all safety/ household bubble protocols with certain group types!), and the uncertainty of a second wave has rocked the stability of even medium-term business decisions. Cheers to a better 2021, where we can welcome our wonderful, loyal and new customers to a new, innovative and safe Beer Bus and cheers to keeping #Ontarios #COVID numbers down. I now feel better about being 100% sure that my company will contribute to that downward trend. Keep visiting our local partners, safely, who are happy to welcome you and your social bubble guests. Sad to see our baby govery heartbreaking decision but one I had to make. Our beloved Beer Bus has been sold and will become a new home to an ambitious young couple (#vanlife). This #pandemic has devastated our business but we are resilient. Running a small businessand owning a bus especially (dont get me started about the #insurance industry in #Ontario) are insanely expensive. Even having the bus parked was adding up, along with other bills. Tourism has been hardest hit ...and the outlook for the immediate future is hopeful, but also admittedly limited and gradual. We are waiting patiently and now, sustainably, and will resume our tourswhen safe to do so with transportation from our existing partners! Same Beer Bus experience just in a post-COVID world. Not the best news, but thought Id share nonetheless .
