The Bel Canto Chorus 31.10.2020

The Elmer Iseler Singers will perform an exciting and varied concert on March 22 at St. Andrew’s Place, 111 Larch St. Sudbury, at 7pm. The Elmer Iseler Singers, acclaimed internationally as one of Canada’s finest musical institutions, is celebrating its 40th anniversary in 2019. This ensemble was founded in 1979 by Dr. Elmer Iseler, the Dean of Canadian Choral Conductors. In 1998 Lydia Adams was appointed Artistic Director and Conductor, and has taken the Singers to new heig...hts through concerts, workshops, broadcasts, recordings and commissions of new works. Recent triumphs include two Juno Award nominations and one Grammy Award nomination as participants in the Toronto Symphony’s luminous Ralph Vaughan Williams Chandos recording with Peter Oundjian conducting. However, the cornerstone of their anniversary celebrations is a seven-concert tour. They will start the tour in Sudbury on March 22nd. The concert will be presented by Bel Canto Chorus, who will join the Elmer Iseler Singers onstage for the final selections in the concert. The concerts will celebrate a diversity of musical styles, cultures and timbres while promoting the highest level of international achievement. The exciting repertoire will include Canadian folksongs, spirituals, and new Canadian music as well as timeless choral masterpieces. You are invited to join the 40th anniversary celebrations with Lydia Adams and the Elmer Iseler Singers as they travel to and perform in seven Ontario centres around Georgian Bay this March.
