So, funny story. We heard from a friend that today was National Burger Day! This news got us excited! We love burgers at the Mezz, especially our Black & Blue Burger pictured here. Our kitchen staff prepared this delicious plate just so we could take a photo of it and promote National Burger Day in the hopes you may order burgers for supper... Here's where the funny part comes in. ... Apparently, it is NOT National Burger Day, it's National Bird Day! So, go bird watching, AND THEN order our Black & Blue Burger. #burgersforsupper

Tim was born and raised in Ontario and started working in kitchens at the young age of 12, starting his illustrious career in the dish area. A few years later, he had his apprenticeship at George Brown College and then spent the next fifteen years travelling throughout to gain as much knowledge as possible. Tim’s travels took him throughout our beautiful country of Canada, a few years spent in Mexico, and even time in Australia. He had the privilege of working for and with s...ome of the best Chefs in Canada, being involved with great organizations such as Hockey Canada, and the absolute pleasure of cooking for the Queen of England. One fun tidbit about Tim (we have many), Tim had the honour of being a Chef competitor on the first season/episode of Chopped Canada, where he got to showcase some of his skills and cook for some amazing Canadian Chefs/judges. Tim says: To me, being a Chef is extremely hard work, hours upon endless hours, stress, aches and pains, constantly thinking and planning, living your life by a clock and a knife, being a mentor, therapist, or someone to get yelled at or given praise to.and I wouldn’t change it for the world.the satisfaction of watching someone moan with delight over a creation that you made for them, makes everything else seem trivial. And makes you do it again the next day. Tim is still leading our kitchen team during this shutdown to ensure you can continue to enjoy our takeout or delivery option (through Skip) from The Mezz.
