What’s your favourite variety of tea Interesting fact: Did you know that in order to sell Darjeeling tea, you must first get a licence from the tea board of India?? Darjeeling is a town in India’s West Bengal state - in the foothills of the Himalayas. The Camellia Sinensis plant was first planted there in 1841, when the British were attempting to source an alternative supplier outside of China. The seeds and plantlings were smuggled out of China and by 1866, there were... 39 tea gardens in Darjeeling. I had my first cup of Darjeeling probably 25 years ago, when my Mom and Darren purchased a loose leaf tea collection from a tiny store in Chinatown in Vancouver. The tins were SO small, we had to ration them...but it was the best tea I had ever had in my young life. Would that we could have this in our catalogue...maybe one day! https://www.buzzfeed.com//15-weirdly-interesting-facts-abo
