It's been a long, hard year, Peterborough and now is not the time for a fare hike! Like and share and tag your councillors, mayor, MPP, MP to ask them to vote down a fare hike for Jan 1st and support keeping transit accessible for everyone including those of us using social services. #TeamTransit #NoFareHike

Tip#3: share what you got and how great it makes you feel Tip#4: write a review on their listings Tip#5: like or comment on their social media posts Tip#6: Leave a 20.20 tip (or even 2020) if you are able to (Image found online, source unknown)

With Peterborough, ON's budget discussions under way, we would like to share our hopes for transit for 2021 and beyond (including the proposed fare hike) and what we hope is considered for this process. Transit is an integral part of the city moving ~8-10% of the city before COVID-19 hit. It's relied upon by: - essential service workers - those in varied professions such as customer service, law, groceries and more ... - those whose financial situation has changed during the pandemic - those without the ability to operate motor vehicles for whatever reason - those that support our local economy as well as those that work for the transit service. For this reason, we humbly hope that the City of Peterborough, City Council, the transportation department and transit service will consider the following: 1. Keep transit accessible and affordable for those who access social services 2. Push to extend current fares for transit and not approve the proposed fare hikes for 1st Jan 2021. There are many other income sources such as parking rate increases that would be more successful 3. Keep service accessible to all parts of the city where business, economic development and health and social services are The pandemic has made things much harder on everyone especially financially, so we ask you as those that need your support, those that need access to community and local business, those who rely on transit for their livelihood, please consider these thoughts. We invite all of you riders to contribute additional thoughts and ideas on how we can keep moving or tag your councilor(s) to share this with them. Note: Transit One and thebus.ca are not affiliated to the City of Peterborough or Peterborough Transit. We (Transit One) are a local small business working hard to make transit easier to understand for success of local economies. We serve 20-25% of the rider market in Peterborough (March 2020). We are riders, working for riders. #teamtransit #RiderNation cc. The City of Peterborough

To support increased ridership, Peterborough Transit will increase frequency on several routes effective starting September 6, 2020. Some routes will also have ...minor adjustments. The new schedules are integrated into the Google Transit trip planning feature in Google maps. Peterborough Transit requires customers to wear a face covering when using Peterborough Transit, in compliance with direction from Peterborough Public Health. Visit peterborough.ca/transit for full details on routes, schedules, maps and how to ride transit safely during COVID-19. See more

Hey #teamtransit, we wanted to check in and see how the new site update at http://thebus.ca was working for you? Anything you feel can be improved?

We hope you are doing well and healthy. We know that not all locations that use thebus.ca have a mask policy on transit but given that usage will start to increase we think this is a good idea. Thoughts? #teamtransit

Change is always challenging, positive for some, unnerving for others. Change comes from necessity and takes time to adjust to. We know that because we're bus riders too. However, change is also an opportunity to try new things and to give feedback to make things better. Please feel free to message us if we can be of help to understand the new routes, we don't have all the answers but we'll do our best. You can also reach out to Peterborough Transit directly to ask your questions and give feedback. Together as transit riders we can work through this change and come out stronger on the other side. (NB: we are not affiliated nor work for Peterborough Transit or City of Peterborough, we are a local business whose goal is to make understanding transit easier)
