COVID-19 update - We're still open! While Toronto experiences another lockdown, this round does not include health practitioners. We're relieved to confirm that we're still providing treatments with all the previous precautions in place. We will continue to monitor the situation and follow the advice of the MOH and CMTO and let you know of any updates. ... We have also updated our covid-19 information page on our site https://thecalmmassagetherapy.com/covid19/ Should you have any further questions Abigail would be happy to help at [email protected] Stay safe, The Calm team

Our hearts go out to Muluba Habanyama. What she experienced is reprehensible, made worse by the fact that she was seeking self-care from someone whose job it was to safely and professionally support her health. Everyone should feel 100% safe during any treatment. That includes the client and the health professional. Should you ever have questions, please ask. Should you ever feel concerned, please talk to someone who you feel safe reaching out to for support.... To look up an RMT, visit http://ow.ly/kJ6050CkHA9 To look up a Physio, visit http://ow.ly/joV950CkHAc Similar colleges exist for acupuncturists, chiropractors, psychotherapists, psychologists, etc. We have great admiration and respect for Muluba’s courage in sharing her story

It's been 4 months since we re-opened so we felt it was time for a recap! BOOKING: Booking for a limited number of 1-hour appointments can be done online at https://thecalmmassagetherapy.com/book-online/ - but for all other appointment options please email Abigail at [email protected] BEFORE: At the time of booking you will be required to do a virtual screening for COVID-19 (the questions I’m sure you hear in your sleep at this point).... APPOINTMENT TIME: Your therapist will greet you at the front door AT YOUR APPOINTMENT TIME as the door will remain locked otherwise, so please do not come early especially as the weather cools and winter begins. And still, to support physical distancing, only the client will be permitted in the clinic. ENTERING THE CLINIC: Once you enter the clinic, your therapist will... ...provide you with hand sanitizer ...ensure you are wearing a face mask ...do a second round of screening questions for COVID-19 (we know you probably know them off by heart now....) ...request that you leave your shoes at the front as the wet weather begins Staff and clients will continue to wear face masks at all times inside the clinic so please bring your own. If you forget, don’t panic, as one will be provided...how is it that the mask emoticon hasn’t proliferated into more options by this point mid-pandemic?! ---> AFTER YOUR APPOINTMENT: Payment can be made via debit or credit card (still while sporting your mask!). You can then book another appointment online or via email at your convenience. And, as always, we want to hear from you if you have any questions, concerns, comments, punny jokes, etc. just message us on Facebook, tweet us on Twitter, or email us via [email protected]

Getting back out there (and enjoying it) may feel a little tricky after months of staying home and ongoing uncertainty. Happily, to help make it a bit easier, these Toronto attractions are offering free admission as we all begin to enjoy what our city has to offer (while sporting our masks, of course). http://ow.ly/u6FE50AHjfL

Today is the day! The Calm has re-opened We're in the first phase of re-opening, which means things might look/feel a little different. Here's what to expect: BEFORE: Abigail will contact you 72 hours before your appointment by email or phone to do a virtual screening for COVID-19 (a few questions about your health and history, nothing you need to study for or Google). It is mandatory that we receive your response to this screening in order to keep your appointment. ... APPOINTMENT TIME: Your therapist will greet you at the front door at your appointment time as the door will remain locked otherwise, so please do not come early (or late, but that's not really a COVID thing) and only the client will be permitted in the clinic. ENTERING THE CLINIC: Once you enter the clinic, your therapist will... ...provide you with hand sanitizer ...ensure you are wearing a face mask ...do a second round of screening questions for COVID-19 (again, we promise you know the answers so no stress!) Staff and clients will be wearing face masks at all times inside the clinic so please bring your own (though if you forget, one will be provided) and we promise to look happier than this poor thing ---> We do request that you try to avoid using the washroom, but it's available if needed (we'll skip this emoticon...). AFTER YOUR APPOINTMENT: Payment can be made via debit or credit card (still while sporting a mask!). You can then book another appointment via email later at your convenience. Then you're on your way hopefully feeling stronger, healthier, and just a little bit more back to "normal". To book an appointment, please email [email protected]
