Canadian Company of Pilgrims-Halifax Chapter 17.11.2020

Hike Cape Mabou with Camino Nova Scotia! Though we’ve postponed our Gaels’ Trail pilgrimage walks until 2021, Camino Nova Scotia is delighted to host a couple ...of day hikes this summer & fall. On Saturday, August 22, we’ll explore the Cape Mabou Trails, starting at the Mabou Post Road trailhead. (See directions in the comments below). At 11:30am, we’ll offer a short introduction to the Gaelic history of this area before setting out on an 8km hike. Camino Nova Scotia guides will accompany hikers up to a beautiful lookoff (and back again!). Participants are welcome to walk at their own pace. The trail is well marked, with moderate inclines and the occasional good climb. Terrain is rugged, with exposed roots and loose stones, so proper footwear is a must. Please email [email protected] to register. There is no fee for this hike. Participants must come prepared with sturdy, close-toed shoes, sunscreen, bug repellant, a water bottle, snacks, and a sense of adventure! In respect of Covid-19 precautions, please bring a mask. While there is plenty of space to distance from one another on the trail, we’ll be in close proximity to each other when we gather at the trailhead. Participants will provide contact tracing information (name, phone, email) at the start of the hike.
