A big thanks to Canada's Ballet Jörgen for the fabulous virtual master classes at Carousel this week! Our students thoroughly enjoyed learning from the company dancers and it was great to be able to make this virtual connection.

We received our first piece of completed art work and can’t wait to receive more submissions. We’re hoping to line our entire studio hallway with these lovely creations in celebration of World Ballet day!

The weather cooperated and we began creating our site specific dance pieces today. It feels so good to be able to express ourselves through dance - we all feel better when were dancing!

Day 2 - Another great evening of in studio classes. Weve returned to the studios with many protocols in place to keep everyone safe. The dancers are excited to be back!

Thank you dancers, parents, teachers for a fantastic afternoon at our site specific performance. So fun to be back on the stage. It’s a bit different but was a thoroughly enjoyable afternoon!!

We are so excited to be back in the studios! A huge thank you to our amazing teachers for all their hard work, to our fabulous students for so diligently following all our new protocols and to the parents for their continued support in helping to get the kids back to dance. It was a great first day of classes!!

Congratulations dancers on a fantastic performance this afternoon. The rain held off and our dancers enjoyed performing their site specific works for groups of audience members who toured to our 8 different performance locations. We were so happy to be able to share our art form with an audience once again! It really is better when we’re dancing!

We enjoyed some time outdoors this afternoon at dance company rehearsals. A big thanks to Brianne for creating such a fun piece for us. We feel better when we’re dancing!

A little bit of rain didn’t stop us from getting outside this afternoon to practice our parade-style choreography!

What a fabulous group of teachers! We are so lucky to have such a talented and passionate staff who are very excited to be teaching in the studios next week. After our meeting tonight to review our new procedures and protocols we are ready to welcome our students back next week!

Were having fun putting together dance prop kits for our youngest students. Looking forward to imagination, creativity and lots of fun both in the studios and at our virtual classes this fall. We cant wait to see our students next week!

We have finally completed our final day of RAD Exams. We are so proud of our students for their perseverance and dedication. A big shout out to the RAD Toronto Office for all their help setting up video exams.

Thank you to everyone who joined our Zoom Dance Company meeting tonight. This year, we are looking forward to some exciting dance projects, expressing ourselves through dance and the great friendships and connections that being a company member always brings. Our connections of course will be more distanced than in this photo taken of Dance Company members at Yuletide Spectacular in 2018.

So happy to be back in the studio with this group dancers! This week we are finishing up the last of our RAD ballet exams which were postponed this spring. Good luck to our grade 4 & 5 students!

We are so proud of Carousel dancer, Sophia, who completed her RAD Advanced 2 Exam today. This exam represents years of training and hard work and is the highest level of studio examinations. Very few dancers make it through to this level and we are so proud of Sophia for persevering not only through her Advanced 2 exam but also for overcoming all the obstacles presented along the way to achieving this goal. Dancing in cramped spaces, taking class through Zoom and finding the dedication to stay focussed on her goal throughout quarantine, all while overcoming the challenge of staying conditioned for such a physically demanding exam. Congrats Sophia!!

Many of our Carousel students are kicking off their summer with a virtual summer intensive. Lily successfully auditioned for a three week program with SunDance. She is loving the ballet classes, dance discussions and working with special guest instructors. Shes also been very excited to be able to complete her virtual intensive at the studio. We are proud of her hard work and dedication!

Happy Canada Day! Two years ago today our dancers were at the Dance and the Child International conference in Adelaide, Australia.
