Meet Chi! She's been cooking up a storm with us this week in the restaurant as a part of her class work. We asked her a few questions about what brought her to Fanshawe for cooking, what she likes to cook, and what she's enjoyed learning while here! What brought you to Fanshawe? I love cooking and baking. ... What is your favourite thing to cook or bake? I have a passion for sourdough bread. That’s what I want to make most. In the kitchen, sauces and butchery are my two favourite things to do. What has been new and exciting in this semester? A lot of new cooking techniques. We get to do a lot of sausage making and meat curing which is interesting because I haven’t done it before. What do you like about learning in The Chef’s Table? It’s a real restaurant that is typically open for the public. It’s still a learning environment, but it prepares people for the actual reality of the work which is interesting to me.
Even though we're not currently open to the public, we're excited to roll out some new content to keep you current on the goings on with The Chef's Table! We're looking forward to showcasing the students, the staff, the community, and the recipes that makes The Chef's Table unique and delicious.
