Pixar Trivia coming to a screen near you The City of Pembroke will be hosting an online fundraiser trivia January 15th starting at 7 p.m.! The category for this game is Pixar and is friendly for fans of all ages. 50% of proceeds for the event will go to the Boys and Girls Club of Pembroke with the other half going to the winning team. Teams of up to 6 can play (even in different households) for $20 a team. ... Participants will receive a code and link to livestream the trivia once registered. The Renfrew County and District Health Unit has issued a COVID-19 travel advisory. They have recommended to not travel this holiday season, and spend the holidays with only those in your household. Santa Drive-By Map Santa has checked his map twice and is ready to share it with you all! The map can be found here: https://bit.ly/Pembroke-Santa-Drive-By. Santa will be starting his big journey through the City of Pembroke December 19th at 4pm at the PMC and will then turn towards the west end of town, make his way to the east end and finish once again at the PMC. ... Paper copies of the map can be picked up by appointment at the Recreation Department if required. We would like to remind everyone to watch from their drive-ways and houses and to follow Renfrew County District Health Unit guidelines and social distance and not gather with anyone outside your household. Chair Yoga sign-up is now open for December! Chair Yoga will be available by registration Tuesdays & Thursdays from December 1st - December 17th. AWE Yoga is continuing to provide FREE Chair Yoga at the PMC. Chair Yoga will run Tuesdays & Thursdays from 10:00-11:00 A.M. on the arena floor with COVID-19 safety measures put into place. Registration for walking in December is now available! Daytime walking is available Monday, Wednesday & Fridays from 10:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. and evening walking is available Mondays - Fridays from 4:30 p.m. - 8:30 p.m. REGISTRTION IS REQUIRED AS SPACES ARE LIMITED.... Walkers must call ahead to book a time slot to walk due to the limited capacity of the building. Walkers can book a 1 hour time slot on each day. Walking will look a little different this year. Walkers must always wear a mask while in the facility, stay at least 6ft. away from all other walkers, walk along the right hand side of the promenade, as well as walking in a 'horseshoe' pattern. This will ensure the safety and wellbeing of all participants. At this time running, stair climbing, and other various physical activities are not permitted. After much deliberation and discussion the City of Pembroke regrets to inform the public that due to a lack of float registration they will be unable to proceed with the Drive Thru Santa Claus Parade of Lights this year. The City of Pembroke encourages residents and businesses to participate in Light Up The Valley as an alternative to the Santa Claus Parade. In addition, people are encouraged to still donate to the local food banks and to local toy drives.
