You can't criticize your way into self-love. If the lens with which you view yourself is critical, then no matter what you do, you will never be enough. Self-criticism leaves us feeling hopeless, helpless and demotivated. A strange thing happens when we accept ourselves - it actually opens us up and motivates us to progress and reach our goals. Self-acceptance may currently be foreign to you but through practice you can rewire your critical brain to an accepting one. P...ractice an act of kindness toward yourself every day. Try these: - Engage in an activity that brings you joy. - Notice something you accomplished today and congratulate yourself. Appreciate this without diminishing it. - Identify a strength, personality trait or success you have had. Appreciate this without diminishing it. - Do something healthy for your body: exercise, meditate, cook a meal, take a bath, stretch, listen to meaningful music, floss, moisturize your body, etc. Love yourself into propelling yourself forward! Prioritizing your own emotional and physical health needs is vital. Constantly giving to others at a cost to ourselves is not healthy because it's not sustainable. . . . How to identify if this is a difficulty for you:... - Feeling like those around you are constantly taking without giving. - Habitually feeling emotionally and physically depleted. - Having difficulty communicating and asserting your wants and needs. - Feeling guilty when you think about or do prioritize yourself. - Struggling to have a sense of self or identity. . . . If any of these resonate, then it may be time to do some work. . . . Things to try: - Coaching your thoughts to remind yourself of your importance and value. - Noticing guilt feelings and talking back to them. (i.e. I need to put on my own oxygen mask before I can help another.) - Investigating where this pattern came from...What relationships earlier in your life taught you to minimize your needs. . . . Love yourself and take care of you! See more

Have a "no matter what" clause in the contract with yourself:I'm going to complete this - no matterwhat.Journeys are often longer and harder than anticipated. You won't have to make a decision while in the midst of the turmoil, because you will havealready committed to keep going and get through it. Commit to yourself by knowing that no matter what, you will keep working toward your goal. . .... . TRY THIS: 1) When trying to complete a task, approach your thoughts with gentle curiosity. Notice what you're thinking without judgment. Common ineffective thoughts that get in the way of achieving our goals: I'm not smart enough. Why bother, I'm not good enough. I'm going to fail. What will people think of me? 2) Coach yourself away from these thoughts. For example: It's valid to feel scared - I can tolerate thefeeling of fear andmove forward no matter what!
