It should come as no surprise that we have entered "Windy Season" here on PEI! Why not alleviate some travel woes and download the Confederation Bridge App to stay up to date with current conditions, winds, and weather forecasts. It's a very helpful tool that we all should have on our phones! Download the app here: https://apps.apple.com/ca/app/pei-bridge/id514822413... Not a cell phone user? Then sign up for Confederation Bridge travel advisories and get notified when any travel changes occur. Sign up for e-mail advisories here: https://www.confederationbridge.com/site/sign-up Also, just as a refresher on wind events, travel restrictions may be enforced when steady winds recorded at the Bridge exceed 70 km/h with gusts consistently exceeding 85 km/h. Restrictions during these times usually only apply to high-sided vehicles, motorcycles, and vehicles with objects in tow. What is considered high-sided? A high-sided vehicle is defined as any vehicle exceeding 7’2 (2.2 metres) in height, including any fixed or removable racks. As a point of reference, most pick-up trucks, SUVs and vans, including most 15-passenger vans, fall well below this height restriction.
