Switch heaters are being installed along the future Line 5, like this heater near the West Portal. The heaters are located wherever there are switches along the LRT track, and will electrically heat the areas surrounding the switches to ensure smooth functionality in all seasons

After the completion of excavation at Mount Pleasant Station, crews have also been able to complete the ground leveling process, and have poured the lowermost concrete slab. No more hauling out of Mt Pleasant station!

At Cedarvale, the underpinnings of the existing TTC station and track are massive. In the first photo, you see the underpinning of the Line 1 station. In the second, you can see the Line 1 box, where trains travel north and south while supported above the future Line 5 station

This double crossover track at Kennedy Station will allow trains to be moved from one track to the other to manage flow. It’s one of several similar crossovers along the line, including single crossover tracks, double crossover tracks and pocket tracks which can store train cars

Forest Hill station construction is progressing and there’s good news for the Cedarvale neighbourhood. Driving north, you can now turn left again from Bathurst onto Eglinton

No longer a frenzy of construction activity, the completed elevated guideway is now part of the test track for Crosstown light rail vehicles
