Find out about Dance Safe and how it came together to help bring the dance community together during these difficult times. https://www.facebook.com/dancesafeontario/
Help us stand in solidarity with all dance studios. Dance studios should not be categorized with adult gym and fitness facilities. There have been no reported outbreaks at any dance studio in Ontario. Dance studio owners have come together over the past 6 months to form Dance Safe, a community guideline to ensure health and safety protocols, as well as the implementation of new physical distance measures. By law officers have commended dance studios on their new protocols s...tating that they are going above and beyond the necessary requirements; however they are treated as a high risk business. Share this post to help keep dance studios open for children. Children need their extra circular activities, it is important to their physical and mental well being. Help us keep small business doors open. #DanceSafeOntario #dancesafe #ontariodanceschools #peel #toronto #ottawa #mississauga #letusdance #saveourdanceschools #kidsneeddance #istandwithdanceschools #danceontario #unfairclosures
Please copy and paste the following and send to your local MPPs, Mayors and the Premiere of Ontario. We hope to gain attention of politicians and hope they reconsider the recent closures affecting dance studios in the GTA. Children need their extra circulars and our dance studio doors need to stay open! Dance studios have gone above and beyond to ensure the health and safety of all dancers and faculty members. With no outbreaks reported why are they being so unfairly targeted...? PARENT ACTION requested : Please add your name and address /signature to the letter below and copy and email to: Patrick Brown Brampton Mayor [email protected] Bonnie Crombie [email protected] John Tory [email protected] Doug Ford - Premier of Ontario [email protected] Christine Elliott Minister of Health [email protected] Lisa MacLeod -MPP- Minister of Heritage, Sport, Tourism and Culture [email protected] Subject: Ontario Dance Studios Unfairly Targeted In Recent Provincial Closures Hello my name is - INSERT NAME I am a resident of Peel Region, Ontario and reside at INSERT ADDRESS I am emailing today to demand that the unfair targeting of my child's dance studio, The Dance PAC and all dance studios in the Toronto / Ottawa / Peel areas be stopped. We are asking that the words 'dance studios' be removed from the modified stage 2 closures list where they have been unfairly lumped in with adult fitness classes. The new restrictions put forth by the Government of Ontario includes the closing of Dance Studios. Why? No other childrens' activities or sports have been named in these closures. There is no reason why kids can train in hockey, soccer, martial arts, gymnastics, cheer etc, but not dance. This impacts children greatly by taking away their access to exercise and recreation, and it also affects their mental health adversely. Local Dance Studios have worked extremely hard to make it safe for their dancers to return and to get doing what they love. To close them down now is unfair and is targeting an area that hasn’t been affected by Covid at all. Please hear the parents of children that dance and allow Dance Studios to stay open with proper Covid protocols in place. Help our kids stay dancing and doing what they love, just like all the other children in other activities that are allowed to stay open. This is an urgent matter, please take immediate action.
