Standing at 1,013 ft tall, The One building will be the second tallest residential tower in Canada, behind the SkyTower. The rectilinear design of The One was designed by British firm Foster + Partners and Ontario-based Core Architects will feature an expressed structure, with vertical, horizontal and diagonal elements covered in "champagne bronze" coloured cladding. Our design team is working on the new Andaz Toronto which will occupy floors four through 16 of the tower, offering more than 15 luxury suites, over 12,000 sq. ft. of event and conference space, food-and-beverage experiences, a spa and other amenities.

The Civic Restaurant serves up refined Canadian cuisine in a vintage-inspired space. The restaurant is located on the main floor of The Broadview Hotel and has a warm, moodier ambience. A palette of deep colours and materials, including green and oxblood leathers, and a walnut bar with antique brass accents infuse the space with the character of an aged tavern. The space is balanced by quirky twists such vintage-style floral chairs and drapery patterned with lemurs smoking hookah pipes.

The transformation of Toronto’s West End continues with the newest edition of Galleria III, the next phase of the Galleria on the Park master-planned community from ELAD Canada located at Dupont and Dufferin. The design-forward, mixed-use tower marks the entryway into the 8-hectare site with a flatiron design that celebrates and pays homage to the areas industrial heritage. Galleria III will bring 426 residences, ranging from studios to three-bedrooms in a range of sizes span...ning from 388 ft to 1,228 ft. The curved exterior massing will be expressed in the unit layouts and balconies, complementing the building's interior design by DesignAgency. Amenities will include a set of wellness-themed spaces including a third-floor fitness centre with a yoga room, spin studio, and meditation room, as well as an exterior dog run and pet wash, outdoor yoga spaces, and private pods surrounded by trees. The 11th floor will feature a selection of spaces geared toward socialization, including a lounge with hanging orb fireplace, a billiards and private dining room, a youth hub, and an outdoor roof deck with many more offerings. For ELEVEN by NeueHouse our design team transformed the penthouse-level floor of the existing NeueHouse Madison Square location into an inspired environment that blends top-level hospitality with an expansive, state-of-the-art workplace. Building off of the signature design style of NeueHouse, this elevated and exclusive floor has skyline views of Manhattan and iconic furnishings blended with bespoke millwork and artisanal light fixtures, delighting those who appreciate clas...sic design and quality craftsmanship. Entry through a generous hotel-style lobby and concierge leads to the centre of the space featuring a large communal open concept kitchen with a variety of seating options, dark walnut cabinetry and black metal detailing. Custom-made screens, in the form of a modernist grid of fluted glass, bronze mesh and wire glass mediate areas of openness and privacy to balance members’ need for public and private, social and individual experiences. The main executive boardroom allows for a similar private or open experience with its smart glass wall which can fade from transparent to translucent. Seating arrangements are residential in scale to maximize comfort, and lighting addresses both task and ambiance. A changing display of original contemporary art adds to the floor’s magic. ELEVEN offers a limited collection of custom-designed atelier desks and fully private studios. Hyatt Hotels and Mizrahi Developments united to announce plans to build a 160-room Andaz hotel in Toronto. Slated to open in 2022, the hotel will be part of The One, a luxury mixed-use tower at the intersection of Yonge and Bloor streets that is expected to be the tallest building in Canada upon completion. The new Andaz Toronto will occupy floors four through 16 of the tower, offering more than 15 luxury suites, over 12,000 sq. ft. of event and conference space, food-and-beverage experiences, a spa and other amenities.

The Drake Hotel announced this week the opening of the Artist Loft. The new space serves as a home base for touring musicians and artists showcasing at The Drake, and is open to private bookings for up to 8 guests. Located next to the Drake’s flagship location on Queen Street West, the second-floor walk-up apartment consists of two private bedrooms, an open loft space, a communal leisure area and a kitchenette. Our team designed the Artist Loft to create a fun and at-home fe...eling, brimming with pops of colour and social spaces ideal for collaboration and creativity. The new space adds a 20th room to The Drake Hotel, in advance of the upcoming 32-room expansion project (also designed by DesignAgency), slated to open in 2021. One of Yorkville’s landmark restaurants, Sassafraz has reopened their doors to the public. Diners can enjoy Chef Geoff Webb’s ever-evolving seasonal menu which showcases the restaurant's relationships with local farms and purveyors. The beloved restaurant has been operating for over twenty years! Set in an array of Victorian rowhouses, DesignAgency redesigned the exterior, dining room and S-Café Bar to establish a contemporary environment. The redesign announces itself with a... change that’s hard to miss: previously a bright yellow, the exterior is replaced by a more historical and sophisticated sage green paint that shifts subtly with the weather and time of day. Only the doors remain the iconic yellow in homage to the restaurant’s long history. Inside, the S-Cafe Bar is lively and bright with design inspiration taken from classic European cafés with a New York twist, with black-and-white floor tile and white-tiled columns. Union Chicken is now open for pick up at their Union Station location. Union Chicken presents a warm, aged character that seems to have evolved with time. The entire length of its façade is composed of industrial windows of different materials providing a transition between the station and the interiors. Inside, a mix of rustic-inspired elements, including reclaimed wood and bead-board panelling, burlap wallpaper, mixed brick and tile, vintage wine crate shelving, and a prom...inent copper-hood rotisserie add eclecticism to the relaxed setting. LOUIX LOUIS, located on the 31st floor of the St. Regis Toronto, has reopened for evening service Monday through Saturday. The glowing amber of LOUIX LOUIS draws inspiration from Canada’s history of manufacturers of distilled whisky and the decadent spirit of the 19th Century. At its centre point is a majestic 30-ft long marble bar, crowned by 18-ft high sculpted bronze and antique-smoked mirrored shelving, displaying hundreds of backlit liquor bottles. The bar is the main ...feature of the 140-seat restaurant and sets the stage for a dramatic yet intimate design that defines the overall lighting, materiality and detailing. Behind, guests can catch glimpses of a secret garden terrace. The eye-catching sixty-foot long mural by Madison van Rijn is rich with colour and drama resembling whisky swirling in a glass.
