For the love of....!!!!! I am going on record to say that WHITENING TOOTHPASTE DOESN'T ACTUALLY WHITEN TEETH!!!! Buy "this" toothpaste because you want to suppo...rt a friend's MLM business... buy "this" toothpaste because you like the minty freshness of a $25 toothpaste... but don't buy "this" toothpaste for its magic tooth whitening powers!!!! What does "whitening" toothpaste do? And I'm not just talking about "that" toothpaste, but every toothpaste that makes a "whitening" claim!! They buff away stain with itty bitty [often grittier than necessary] particles... it helps remove dental plaque which is yellowish in colour (just like the $0.99 stuff on the bottom shelf at Walmart)... but UNLESS there is an active whitening ingredient such as peroxide, it will not make them any whiter than they naturally are!! I know... it's deceiving right? Are there toothpastes on the market that contain peroxide that will actually change the colour of your teeth? Yup, just check the ingredients. But! Even IF there is an active whitening ingredient... it is a very INEFFICIENT way to deliver it to the surface of the tooth. But.... what about all of the amazing before and after photos that show after 1,2,3 uses? Ugh... those photos. I'll just say that lighting can give the illusion of a change in colour. Check out my attached photo to see for yourself. This are my photos of my own teeth taken seconds apart with flash and filters. If you want to brighten your smile, talk to your dental professional about your options. Does that mean an expensive professional treatment is the only way to go? Nope. If you're looking for a more affordable price tag, you have SAFE options (please skip the off brand/unregulated whitening kits!). There are products that are tried and true such as Crest Whitestrips. Are they perfect? No, absolutely not. Are they a good option for everybody? Nope. But you know what? They'll get you brighter than "that" toothpaste. And just an added FYI... crowns, veneers, fillings, porcelain anything will not change with any whitening product. Mic drop. **Picking up the mic one more time for an edit** And you don't have to take my word for it!! This company clearly states that their toothpaste doesn't make teeth any lighter than they naturally are. Albeit, most of the other language and wording is a little misleading. https://www.nuskin.com//d/sp/pip/AP-24_Toothpastes_PIP.pdf Bam. Dropping it again. Another edit... Just to clarify... They list this particular toothpaste as having a RDA (relative dentin abrasivity) of 103 which is on par with (and even a little lower) than many other mainstream toothpastes. This tell us how gritty the toothpaste is. I'm a firm believer that when it comes to conserving the surfaces of your teeth/gums... the less gritty, the better. I often recommend Sensodyne Pronamel (RDA of about 34) because it's one of the least gritty. In my post, I talk about how whitening claims on MOST toothpastes are misleading... they buff away stain. My issue with this toothpastes like this one isn't that it's overly gritty... it's that it's THE SAME AS EVERY OTHER WHITENING TOOTHPASTE ON THE MARKET. Annnnnnnnnd let's be real here. The reason people are spending their money on this product is because of those before and after pictures (many people have reached out and told me as much). My biggest issue with products like this one is the DECEPTION. I don't think that all of the people who are selling the product are trying to be deceptive, but light in photos makes a big difference. I tell ya what I do see in most photos is that it looks like most people are doing a way better job with their brushing and getting rid of yellow sticky plaque (particularly in photos with children).

Check out these amazing before/after photos of my teeth!! Before and after flash and filters, that is It's easy to be "wowed" by photos like these... but cons...ider the source and do got research before purchasing too-good-to-be-true whitening products. Stay tuned for a new blog post this evening about the not-so-bright-side of online whitening products!
